I've been thinking the same thing a lot over the last few months. There's a ton of great Master stuff being announced and released, but Macqueen is nowhere to be found. It's a massive hole/huge missed opportunity to introduce new listeners to audio-original characters, IMO. Plus I just really like his version of the Master. If you have listened to recent Big Finish Podcasts, one email writer did wonder about Alex McQueen and Nick took a note down about that. Whether anything will result from that is another question. Overall, I enjoyed the set quite a lot. Just a great set of stories. I was also a bit disappointed in how Nina was picked off in Concealed Weapon. After losing the captain due to Hugo's programming in disposing one body, they should not have trusted Hugo at that point. The three of them should have moved around together. And once Nina started questioning Hugo she should have turned around or at least contacted the others asap. Still, overall it was an intriguing story and I wondered at the end whether River really was controlled by The Master at the end or just thought that was the best approach anyway.

The first EP grated on me. I disliked the arc of S6 and all the contradictions and nonsense 'explanations'/etc it brought with it, so constantly being reminded was simply irritating. And while I appreciate that Missy was more toned down than the over-the-top WACKY! of the TV version, meh. Not one of my favorites.
Second. Allright then. I like Beevers. Story was decent/pretty good. (panther-people sounded a bit silly though, truth be told).
Third story was good, though I either missed it or they didn't mention _why_ these people were hauling a "psycopath" around, but man, what people said about Roberts was accurate. Not only did he seem bored, but the sound editing was simply weird. His parts didn't sound like he was in the same room as any of the other characters, whereas Missy did. It was as if his mic input was turned up so that when he was talking at a normal or even slightly quiet voice, his volume was as loud as River when she was practically exclaiming. Found that rather distracting.
Fourth: on it..

Listened to this quite a while ago but apparently never commented on it. I enjoyed it a lot. Loved River's interactions with Missy, quite amusing. Lifeboat and Deathboat had an interesting twist in the story. I really liked all the stories though.

This is the first of the Diaries of River Song series that I've listened to. To be honest I was only drawn to it because I'm on a bit of a Master kick.
But I do love River, such a fun character. Also loving her them Music: very brassy and Bond-like.
