Just relistening to these, they bear up much better the second time around, though I still think "Aladdin Time" is awful.

I have them sitting on my shelf and have never been able to get into them - frankly I find them painful to listen to, they really don't hold my attention. It is a shame as I love Tom, but there is something about these releases which really doesn't work.

Ah yes. I've only listened to the Hornets' Nest saga, but I loved it!
I'd love to see Big Finish produce stories with Mrs. Wibsey and Mike Yates. They're unlikely to be regulars in the 4DAs, methinks, but I could see them popping up in the Main Range, should Tom ever do any of those.

I started to listen to them, but they didn't live up to my expectations and gave up, perhaps I should give them another go.

It was great at the time that we had new Tom Baker material, so we might have given them some slack. However we now have Tom reunited with Louise and Mary.

For what it's worth, I listened to them, having already heard some of Tom's BF adventures. In point of fact, I'd read negative reviews of the series, and found myself pleasantly surprised.

A couple of weeks ago at Armageddon someone had brought along the collection of all three series for Richard Franklin to sign. He was actually pretty great, talking some time to talk to each person getting something signed. Even if it did mean waiting in line a bit longer. At least the line for poor Bernie Kopell was short, so I didn't spend much time waiting there!

I quite enjoyed these outings if l am honest. I do take on board the points made here however, at one point l felt Tom's heart wasn't in it. There is a good theme l think that could be explores properly by Big Finish here if treated properly. I always toyed with what if more than one Dr to visit the cottage, of multi Doctor story l thought could work here.

Don't think Paul Magrs captures Tom's Doctor to well in this saga & several stories had weak climaxes, the last two stories however were excellent & great to see the return of Mike Yates.

I just found the stories lacking on the whole and felt too often rather flimsly constructed. I do love Mrs Whibbsy, however and it'd be great to see her carried over to Big Finish.
I've never had any qualms with the format which so many fans had, though.

I was quite happy with these. It took Tom Baker a while to get the hang of what he was doing, and perhaps the structure wasn't ideal, but overall I think they worked well. Whether there's any scope for Whibbs to return, I don't know.
(It's a shame, though, that in that first episode it's established that Tom Baker is playing the Doctor as he looked in the 1970s. In retrospect this would've been a fit for the Curator)
