Add Jonathan Morris to that list. JM does not seem to have done as much for BF in the last couple of years as in the 3 of 4 years prior to that. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my perception. He's another one I'd like to see more of. If someone was working out the stats, I would imagine Guy Adams has knocked him out of the top 3 but, as I say, that's just perception. I haven't taken the trouble to count!
He's been trying to get a few non-Who projects off the ground for awhile now, can't begrudge him for that, but he's not exactly far from Who. He frequently writes for DWM and we've got Lords of Terror for the second Eighth Doctor Time War box set coming up and The Bekdel Test in 2019 for River Song series Five and he's script editor for Jermiah Bourne.

The story write ups do sound interesting, but I still don’t feel tempted by these Doctor Chronicles. The Eleventh Doctor is my favourite new series Doctor, but I am happy to wait for Matt Smith.
However with no chance of John Hurt returning to the role I would gladly sign up for the War Doctor Chronicles with Nick Briggs narrating.

You'll probably be waiting a long time, though....

Has the price of these Chronicle releases been discussed?
It seems odd to have this boxset the same price as the River Song boxset which is out in the same month. The River Song set has three times as many actors and includes Alex Kingston AND Tom Baker in the cast, plus has the better packaging with the extra artwork and booklets.
Therefore these Chronicles must be cheaper to produce, however I suppose it is down to the economics of scale, with the River Song set destined to sell more.
But if you only had £23 to spend in the month of August what would you buy!?

That’s fine, because there are plenty of other Doctors to choose from!

I have a thought that when the time comes someone else (Jacob Dudman?) may narrate War Doctor chronicles, with a view to paving the way for that person to play the young War Dr in full cast audios.

You'll be missing out on Big Finish tackling the Eleventh Doctor, though

Hmm that’s an interesting idea. I hadn’t considered that. With the Eighth Doctor currently having adventures in the Time War I doubt we will see any War Doctor releases until late 2020 at the earliest, but it will be interesting to see what Big Finish choose to do with the character.

I think we're going to be waiting a long time before Big Finish touches any War Doctor material. You don't recast an iconic actor like John Hurt in any shape or form for an extensive period.

The sound design on these releases is pretty extensive, though - less meditative then the Companion Chronicles, more in the vibe of trying to come as close to a TV episode and acknowledging the absence of the lead actors. It's certiantly not on a Companion Chronicles budget.

I can't stress this enough (and under the risk of sounding repetitive), but I'd love for Sam Riley to play the young War Doctor. I think it'd be perfect casting, as he sounds and looks the part. But I think (especially considering the omission of this Doctor in the Paul Spragg competition) this is a decision the BBC would have to be very closely involved in. Luckily, he's worked with them before

The cast could’ve been better, particularly with the amount of actors from the Smith era we have involved with Big Finish, but the stories sound great and this era can get away with using Kazran, Dorium, etc. without it looking too bad. That aside, the stories sound great and Dudman’s Smith is fantastic!
It’ll be interesting to see what comes next for the Chronicles range. I’m guessing there’s no plans for second volumes. A War Doctor set would be most welcome. I’m not the biggest fan of Nick Briggs’ War Doctor, but I can live with that. There’s no reason why the cast couldn’t be great; Jacqueline Pearce, Ken Bones, Clare Higgins, Louise Jameson. Even Lalla Ward and Carole Ann Ford.

It's possible Darvill might still want to distance himself from Rory, though and he left a popular US TV series recently to work in the UK to be close to his family.
These releases are an experiment, though and we're only two months out from The Tenth Doctor Chronicles release, which was a relaunch for the range. It's far too early to tell. I doubt we're getting War Doctor stories anytime soon.

I wouldn't use any of the regular companions in a New Series Chronicle. I'd save them for getting the gang together.

Didn't know who that was, and compared a scene of his to John Hurt's Caligula - he doesn't sound too much like the real young John Hurt but rather has a lot of vocal qualities that he had later in life. But that does sort of suit the idea, as the only young War line - "Doctor no more" - came from Hurt at the same age he was in DOTD. I'd be open to it, if done well. It’ll be interesting to see what comes next for the Chronicles range. I’m guessing there’s no plans for second volumes. A Twelfth Doctor Chronicles is inevitable, surely? Provided these ones sold, of course.

I just saw that Dudman did the War Doctor's voice in the Arrows of Time planetarium event thingy (I had forgotten it even existed until an ad came up on YouTube, so sadly I missed the show in Birmingham a few weeks ago), so maybe, if/when they do the War Doctor Chronicles, he'll be the narrator/Doctor too. He also did the Twelfth Doctor for that (although I prefer Chris Walker-Thomson's impression), so he may become the sole narrator of the Doctor Chronicles range.

I'd imagine the Twelve Doctors Chronicles is either in the can or very close to it and we'll get an announcement post-Series 11. As I said earlier, it's far too early to tell. The Churchill Diaries has gone done well, after all.

On that note, if we get a Churchill 3, we could have a Twelve story in that as well...

A pity that Rory Williams does not appear since Amy is an empty character without him, I just hope that Big Finish does not turn her into a damsel in danger that does not contribute anything like she has been in all her episodes but I want them to keep their jerkass attitude with a depressing air of loneliness since it makes her more unique than the NewWho companions. On the other hand, I'm very happy that we see a Clara/Eleventh story, the old times when Clara was likeable and enjoyed traveling before becoming a Lisa Simpson along with unpleasant things like Danny Pink, the school, the Hybrid, that just ruined her more.

If Big Finish could get Karen Gillan into a Diary of River Song story, exploring their relationship would bring out something interesting in both of them. Amy never got to raise her daughter, and her maternal side hasn't been fleshed out as much. Not to mention it'd open up Karen Gillan fans who discovered her through Guardians of the Galaxy. Imagine Amy and River on a girls night or shopping trip. Normally I tune out when it's girl talk, but Alex Kingston and Karen Gillan just might draw me in.
Really, River and her family is something that hasn't been explored much. Rory's love for Amy is very strong, and we don't have much on his relationship with River. After the reveal about their being related it wasn't used much. Then there's River's paternal grandfather Brian, who'd be delighted to meet her. Her adopted brother Anthony, who Amy and Rory did get to raise and who didn't get trained as an assassin. That's a promising dynamic and might bring out a wistful River who dwells on what could have been.
Clara desperately needed a fully fleshed out character beyond what the plot required of her, and that's where Big Finish excels.
