I would guess today's news is going to make full-cast Eleventh Doctor stories considerably less likely for the time being... Oh Interesting.

Big Finish are nothing if not the masters of scheduling, and so far as I'm aware Matt Smith is still open to the idea of returning from time to time. Masters of scheduling they may be, but Matt getting cast in Star Wars is a pretty big deal. It could be that he and Karen are the only two new series stars to really make it in Hollywood, which I don't think is something BF have had to work around before.

Well, that did have some effect - there were one or two monthly range plays he was barely in - but once The Hobbit was done filming, his work schedule was pretty much back to normal. Whereas this could cause Matt's post-Who career to really take off.

I don't think it'll ever be a footnote - it's his star-making role, after all. I just think the way his career is taking off will make it much more difficult for him to have the time to revisit it.

A lot of it depends on where he is shooting. If the majority of his stuff is to be done at Pinewood Studios, then that keeps him more or less in London area and that could work to Big Finish's advantage. If the majority of his scenes are to be done on location, then it could have the opposite effect.

Just finished the set today. I thought it was quite enjoyable. At times I did forget I was listening to Jake as opposed to Matt. A great variety of different companions and types of stories.
I did like that they did fill in the Clara meeting Jane Austen.

The Calendar Man was amazing and scary, really felt like the best of the Moffat era! The ticking that followed the Calendar Man’s every move was a wonderful piece of sound design. The Top of the Tree and The Light Keepers were OK, fun but forgettable. I really, REALLY despise False Coronets though, mostly because I was siding with Tom (I think that was his name? Can’t be bothered to check) in it. Royals are disgusting parasites. I also don’t like that they filled in the Clara/Jane Austen meeting. As a queer fan myself, I liked that better as an implication, leaving you to imagine how exactly Clara knew she was a ‘good kisser’, imagining it as risqué (or as innocent, I guess if you have a boring imagination) as you please.
I will say though, that Jake Dudman’s impression is absolutely brilliant. They could’ve swapped him out for the real Matt Smith halfway through and I wouldn’t notice a thing.

So with volume 2 confirmed in the latest podcast, which I confess I haven’t heard yet, what and/or whom does the forum want to hear in the next set?
I’d certainly like Dorium Maldovar to make another appearance.
Plus if possible Jago and if I am really hoping...Jago & Litefoot!

All jokes aside, I’ll be surprised if we don’t at least get one stand alone set during the Siege of Trenzalore.
