I’m surprised that they’re doing more sets. Only the Good was a pretty definitive ending and it’s been a bit of a delayed announcement for more sets. I thought between that and the three appearances in other sets we’d had our lot.
It’s a pleasant surprise; loved the first set so definitely up for more!

3 boxsets of Sir Derek Jacobi's silky smooth, deliciously malevolent and subtly manipulative Master? Like that wasn't on my "to buy" list within sixty seconds of reading the news feature!
And while we will sadly never get the opportunity to hear the War Master cross swords with the War Doctor (I like to imagine Hurt and Jacobi would have indulged in Delgado/Pertwee style battle of wits had their characters met), I really hope that the intriguingly titled Rage of the Time Lords offers the possibility of a face off between the Master and a certain Cardinal...

Master: ohh hello Ollistra. You’ve regenerated I see. You look tired already. Ollistra (still Jacqueline Pearce, fresh from her run in with the Doctor in DC4): And you’re as unctuous as ever. M: Always a pleasure to come home, especially not in chains. O: your particular fetishes are none of my concern. Winning this war is. M: Ohh there’s a war On? Is THAT why every Dalek in existence seems hellbent on murdering me. I thought it was something had eaten thst had offended them. That’s good. Sautéed Dalek Emperor is an acquired taste after all. O: you are foul. M: but you’re still talking to me. Why is that I wonder? OHH YES because your pet weapon of mass destruction told yuo where to go didn’t he. O: the Dcotor will see the necessity... M: no he won’t. He’s the Doctor, he’ll chase the illusion of peace until his final incarnation. What do you want Ollistra. Give me a reason not to be the only breathing thing in this room five seconds from now.

It’ll be refreshing to have a Time War set that doesn’t feature the Daleks. I know they’re obviously the biggest part, but I rather like the idea of seeing how the fallout of the Time War affects other planets and species.

They are a time sensitive species. Their technology is non existent correct?

I hope the artist who did the covers for Only the Good is doing the covers for these, I love them to bits, especially The Sky Man.

"The Master of Callous" is a truly, truly awful title.
...but that didn't stop me from pre-ordering all three sets the moment I saw the news piece. Jacobi's War Master has been a delight in every story he's appeared and I am super excited that we get this many more! I can't wait to see what fresh cruelties and monstrosities they've dreamed up for him to indulge in!

I just noticed: the "Rage of the Time Lords" set is scheduled to be released in the same month (July 2019) as the Eighth Doctor Time War Volume 3 set.
Crossover opportunity?

The only issue I see is that the Doctor isn’t even slightly phased meeting Yana, not even a hint of a possibility he thought to himself ”that looks like the Master”, which suggests that they never met.

I don't see how the Doctor can meet the War Master pre-Utopia.
That said, if John Hurt had not passed away, I am absolutely certain they would have found an opportunity for Jacobi to appear in the War Doctor range.
