I am really curious what you all say about this... still not sure if this if for me. The last set affected me mentally and made me literally feel cold inside with the dread and the evil. It would be nothing I could listen to now in my current stressed mindset. But I am not completely averse to having this sold to me. Plus, I am now quite curious about the reveals in this ominous trailer. SPOILER me please...

So that’s what they meant when they said that Diary Of River Song Series 5 ties into the next War Master set.

{Spoiler} River Song is in it. So that’s what they meant when they said that Diary Of River Song Series 5 ties into the next War Master set. {Spoiler} It’s not River in the trailer, it’s the eighth doctor {Spoiler} Yeah I quickly realised that the person who told me it was River was lying.
But I had assumed it was true because they didn’t really have any reason to lie, plus what was said in vortex. 🤷♂️

Yeah, kind of assumed it might be the 8th Doctor since sadly John Hurt had passed away. And amnesia is a character trait of the 8th Doctor anyways...

As Excellently Performed as the 1st one (I now have a proper Audio Crush on Maeve Bluebell Wells & Samantha Be'art, more from these performers in future productions please BF and Mr Handcock?) Sorry tuigirl but I can report that Derek Jacobi is as "Masterfully" Dark and Evil as before. The Ood are as you'd expect them to be with the Master involved. It is a little padded in places but the afore mentioned performances are so good, its forgivable And Yes The Trailer at the end Did get a Heck Yes from me July really should be the 8TH month next year! EDIT or as you put the last CD in LOL Regards mark687

Can I just say that redacted makes me hesitant to buy set 3 as redacted is way overused in guest starring and redacted is probably one of my least favourite redacted. Here’s hoping it’s only for a single episode.
p.s. I’m on my phone so I can’t use spoilers so suffice to say redacted is in regards to the trailer.

Though I take the point it is deliberate bait for the widest possible audience presumably.

Might even lure me in again (since I am apprehensive about the second release)... If he outweights the Master's evil...

I'm trying to remember if I ever listened to the last story of the first set.

A good, 4.5 hour long movie, tangentially connected to Doctor Who, with nowhere near enough of the Master for my tastes. Also, connections to the Time War (he’s called the WAR Master after all) were next to non-existent.
I still adored it. I still recommend it to any fan of Derek Jacobi’s Master.
I REALLY recommend it to fans of the Ood. They’re used quite masterfully in this epic.
It’s a good set. Worth the money for sure. Just not what I was expecting

Just finished the first episode. I loved that it really took time to build up this world and introduce us to the characters slowly. You do get a feel of all the characters and there motives. The Master is used sparingly in the episode but I enjoyed it showing him playing the long game and nudging people into doing things to get the outcome he wants. I am looking forward to hearing where its all leading.

Two episodes in and really enjoying it so far. It’s hard to assemble thoughts at this moment, as it’s very much one big story. There’s lovely world building and guest cast of characters, which sort of disguises the fact it’s rather a Master lite!

I'm trying to remember if I ever listened to the last story of the first set. No, you didn't.
(OK I'm guessing but I honestly think it would be impossible to forget the events of 'The Heavenly Paradigm', if you'd ever heard it. )

Call for the Dead{Spoiler} This really does feel like a novel and what a superb opening chapter. The Master systematically tears apart lives...for what end?

The Glittering Prize{Spoiler} Ah I love a slow build. The Master is in full ‘wouldn’t hurt a fly’ mode, the other characters are getting decent work too.
What is the Master up to? Why is he so keen to push the mining of a mineral he can barely look at? Will the Time War figure into his endgame (since he referenced it)? It’s incredibly hard to ascertain how much of the ending was by his own design.
I’m gripped by this set.

The Persistence of Dreams{Spoiler} And I thought It Takes You Away would be the weirdest entertainment I’d experience for a while.
That was a bloody nightmarish side-step.

Sins of the Father{Spoiler} That tied everything up rather nicely. Half the episode wraps up the character development of the ones unique to this set, and second sees the Master play his hand-and win. And all this death and destruction-for essentially a weapons shipment (though really, how else did the Time Lords expect the Master to procure it).
Nice cameo at the end. So if I’ve understood correctly this is actually set before any other Time War releases. The Time War hasn’t formally kicked off yet but is soon to start.
