This actually comes up in Heiress of Collinwood, when Vicky needs to go check out a dead body. Can't quite remember the details though...

The Collinsport hospital morgue appears in Bloodlust, where there's actually competent police work going on for once! Shame about the mass hysteria sweeping through Collinsport.

It’s a novel written by Lara Parker and released a couple of years ago. It follows Vicki’s return to Collinwood and her investigation into her past, which yields much more that her first time at Collinwood did. Lara has written a sequence of novels set after the show, one of which is a framing sequence for Angelique’s backstory, and on which the Angelique’s Descent audio readings are based. In terms of continuity it doesn’t fit the Big Finish audios, so best to consider it a Parallel Time Band.

Ahh right I have seen Descent on BF website...once am a bit deeper into the audios i shall get to grips with the parallels, my tv experience was the Barnabas episodes and the first time travelling one that ended in the hanging.

You can buy the novels as ebooks on Amazon to read on the Kindle or an iPad. There was one, Dreams of the Dark, written by Stephen Mark Rainey (he’s written a couple of audios like Curse of the Pharaoh), then Lara’s Angelique’s Descent. The publisher folded or something after that, so an ongoing series of novels didn’t happen until 2006 or so when Lara wrote The Salem Branch, which was followed by Wolf Moon Rising and then Heiress of Collinwood. Fairly late into the show the concept of Parallel Time is introduced. It’s basically parallel worlds, where the characters are variations on their prime Collinwood counterparts. One of the audios identifies the 2012 Tim Burton film as another world, or a Time Band, and it’s as good an explanation as any. The audiobook release for Angelique’s Descent trims all the framing sequence away and is presented in third person. The last hour or so (its two releases of two discs each, each disc coming in at least just over an hour) covers the events of the 1795 storyline, focusing on Angelique and her efforts to get Barnabas to love and marry her. It was written in the early 90’s (on tape and no internet), so there are some inconsistencies with the show but that get addressed in later books.

I have two real favourite audios already Curse of the Pharoah by Stephen Mark Rainey and Panic. So i will at some point give Stephens Dreams Of the Dark a read but later into my initiation....

I highly recommend you get the Welcome to Collinsport set. There are some terrific stories in there and it’s perfect for being introduced to the residents.
