Which has seemly become a forerunner to a sentiment "Should Actors be expected to be Role Models" Regards mark687 Which sounds like the kind of in depth topic Nucleus starts a thread on about 1am on Friday nights going into Saturday mornings. Indeed. After I too have a few too many - it's a living.

You can picture it now, can’t you? Big Finish scrambling to get a replacement release.
“Coming soon from Big Finish Productions. Torchwood. The Monthly Range. Release 50. The Journal of Rick Yates, MP.”
Written by, directed by and starring Nicholas Briggs, reprising his role as Rick Yates, MP and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary from Torchwood: Children of Earth.

This will probably be released eventually. They're not going to let a recording of David Tennant as the 10th Doctor just sit on a shelf. They're probably waiting for things to blow over a bit and then see where the chips fell.

They're probably waiting for things to blow over a bit and then see where the chips fell. The fact that the product page has been erased from the website completely and they're inviting purchasers to email them to request a refund suggests that they don't expect it to be released for at least a long time, if not ever.

Considering the reports on all the difficulties nailing down people for TW 7 this could be an opportunity to do backstory for Tania and also maybe a story on how Andy basically becomes a TE member.
I also feel that this is due to NC's legal team trying to use JB as a cudgel against his much worse offenses.
In my opinion a lot of JB stuff will be put on hold or cancelled for the next few months. The BBC needs to do their own internal stuff as does BF.
But unless/until we get a long reflective apology from JB I see him not bein involved with DW for awhile.
Also if people recall JB's association with Torchwood was in some ways why he wasn't ghe first to call for more DW work.
Basically seriously adult show vs Kid friendly DW.
But with two known predators/harassers(Noel and Bruno) and 1 who displayed his kit frequently and did make others uncomfortable(JB) BBC and their licensees are likely stopping anything to do with any of them.
Also makes you wonder if that's why NC has never worked for BF again. He starred in Dalek Empire 4 and one Stargate and I always founs it strange that he never came back.
I would hope JB has a good long think about all this and instead of said small 2008 apology he addresses it all.
As a completely generic aside JB is probably one of the hardest TWers to tamp down and it might actually be easier to do TW7 with the knowledge they could do it without him.
I am very bummed about AF being cancelled or delayed though as a a discord friend of mine worked on it.

I'm glad actions have consequences and that someone who had absolutely reprehensible conduct in his workplace is finally paying for it. Of course, I don't think it's anywhere near as horrible as what Noel Clarke has been doing, and he isn't beyond learning his lesson (he seems to be gradually reforming himself - I think I've read someone say something about the set of Legends of Tomorrow, though, but I haven't been able to find anything concrete). He needs to truly apologise and spend a long time away from the game. Although I like the man, I've always hated his sense of self-importance, and I think that's what's been stopping him from realising his "shenanigans" are wrong in that context (I can't talk about what he does in private with his friends, but it's not appropriate for the workplace). Hopefully, his "cancellation" will be a reality check for him. Now, regarding this release, how do I go about contacting Big Finish about a refund? Can I ask them for another release instead of a refund? I've never had this happen before, hahaha.

The problem with Barrowman is that it strikes me that he doesn't believe he's done anything wrong, because when he was spoken to on Torchwood and apologised for the Radio incident back in 2008, he continued to get up to inappropriate antics and joke about such things. Even up to when he was on Arrow. He may have started changing, but even the statement to the Guardian felt less of an apology and more defending himself. If he gave a proper apology and actually learned from this it would help to redeem his image, I think, but he/his team seem to be quiet at the moment. I do wonder if BF are waiting to see how Barrowman responds to this situation and then perhaps taking it from there with whether they release it in the future or not.

If I was being uber-cynical I'd point out that Indecent Exposure is only a criminal offence if there is malicious intent behind it, so making it clear that it was an ill-judged bit of "fun" is in his best interests.

So, according to Metro, Absent Friends was the only upcoming audio planned to have featured Barrowman.

Children of Earth was what got me into Torchwood, so I'd be all for this, especially if they could get cameos from Peter Capaldi and Susan Brown.

So, according to Metro, Absent Friends was the only upcoming audio planned to have featured Barrowman. Does this mean Big Finish knew something? So they haven't done a Torchwood with Barrowman since Expectant in Dec 2019, and they haven't recorded anything with him since The Lives of Captain Jack in Mar 2020. That's over a year with no JB.

It's very possible. They also haven't said anything about Torchwood Series 7 other than Goss's tweets for ages now. It'll be interesting to see what the 15th anniversary release will be, that was mentioned in this article. If Absent Friends was the only upcoming audio featuring Barrowman, I wonder what this release will be. Hopefully they'll be able to do some boxsets set between Series 1 and 2 of the TV show now. Also, welcome to the forum!

It's also possible that they weren't allowed to use Barrowman because Chibnall was planning to do something with him in the TV series, and didn't want Big Finish to create contradictions with their own episodes.

I believe there was some suggestion that BF were asked not to use Jack whilst he was in the TV series again. All this only kicked off with the allegations against Noel Clarke last month so I can't see how they could have known something in the year before that.
