It means contact them if you don't want it to be bought in march when it releases, can we not argue the semantics of what they meant? If you don't want it then you ask for it refunded if you do want it you say nothing. Will absent friends come out eventually? Honestly it seems less and less likely and people need to accept that. I feel like there is a lot of vitriol and bias floating around the Torchwood monthly range at this point. We need to just put Absent Friends behind us and move forward. Sorry, but this is a bit aggressive. I wasn't trying to criticise BF or "argue semantics", I was just saying that I was confused as to what to do as the email suggests if you're happy with the replacement that you need to email them. There was no need to be so rude. Sorry for the aggressiveness, I wasn't in a very good mood when I wrote that, sorry.

I wasn't trying to pick at BF, and for what it's worth, I'm looking forward to the replacement story.

So, in todays podcast, Briggs has basically all but confirmed that the removal of Absent Friends was a BBC mandate, or, at the very least, that BF's hands were tied:

According to rumours, Scott has been tapped by Russell T Davies to act as script editor for the Bad Wolf era of Doctor Who. Dunno if that's been confirmed or how it would affect his Big Finish work, but there it is. Oooh, what's the source of these rumours? Am hoping it might point to a return for Torchwood on TV!!!

But what a great idea. Scott Handcock's stuff is terrific and RTD has form for nicking Big Finish talent for the TV.

Don’t we at least know that James Masters has been recording a Captain John Hart story recently?
In any case, if the Monthly Range is theoretically coming to an end what would Big Finish do to replace it? Considering the amount of disparate characters I’m not quite sure the boxset route would work.

Considering the amount of disparate characters I’m not quite sure the boxset route would work. Could be a Sins of Captain John volume 2? But yeah, in terms of TW boxsets... it only really works in cases like The Sins of Captain John or Torchwood Soho. It would be difficult to do a Torchwood Three boxset without a full main cast.

Not to mention although I’m sure Kai Owen would do a sterling job I somehow don’t think characters like Rhys would be strong enough to headline their own boxset. Now an Owen and Andy two hander I could perhaps see working. But I could quite easily see that turning into too much of a good thing.

After being added to my order list as a replacement for Absent Friends last week, The Black Knight has suddenly disappeared again. Anyone else noticed this?

Well, I think the monthly range is likely still the main source of Torchwood at Big Finish, with teamups being less likely as time goes on. There are lots of characters still at play though, with a lot being used recently as well.

Regards mark687 No, when The Black Knight was announced individual buyers were automatically given it if they hadn’t had a refund on Absent Friends. Like I’ve got a screenshot of The Black Knight with the “you’ve got this sticker” It was definitely there, and now it’s gone again.

Well current positions are Eve/Burn No Comment at all Tom/Kai No Comment on the situation except to say they're jobbing Actors Gareth and Naoko Support JB and they're jobbing Actors So for regular output in the short term/ next couple of years we're looking at Victorian Norton 1950's Sgt Andy at large At a stretch a new version of the Torchwood Archive Regards mark687
