roughly a hundred CDs worth (and preorders for most of this month and next month's output and a number of CDs from BBC and BBV) A hundred still to listen too?My goodness that is a lot of hours yes, well I've been busy catching up with my listening over the last couple of years ...I think my backlog was over 500 at one point ...I try to listen to at least 1 a day (and extras at weekends), my target is to be more-or-less up to date with my listening by the end of the year (whether I manage it remains to be seen) at least I'm almost up-to-date on my buying (except for 36 from the discontinued ranges)

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I'm down to less than 20 plays to listen to: I got hearing aids last year, but they have a Bluetooth feature on them which - coupled with the Big Finish app - means I can listen to stuff at times and places where I couldn't previously.

I have hours and hours worth of releases to listen to, because I buy stuff I know I'm going to want to listen to eventually when it goes on sale. There's stuff I pre-ordered ages ago that I haven't listened to yet, also. To name a few I haven't listened to: All of Sarah Jane Most of Iris Wildthyme Most of Graceless A whole bunch of Sherlock Holmes Most of the Jago & Litefoot box sets All of the Destiny of the Doctor releases I bought on sale earlier this year Several Avengers box sets A bunch of short trips (subscriber and otherwise) Most of Counter-measures Some Fourth Doctor Adventures (including the most recently released ones) Some Early Adventures The most recent Bernice Summerfield releases And some other odds and ends.
And I actually haven't had a big purchase since mid-June, when I bought a bunch of Companion Chronicles on sale.

It's a long, slow process, but I'm getting there

Pointer - sales can cause backlogs, so you don't want to pass on sales just because you have a backlog. Cases in point (?) - I think most of my backlog currently consists of Bernice Summerfield, Sherlock Holmes, and Pathfinder Legends stories that I bought in Big Finish sales. (I think I've cut the Bernice backlog in half in the past week). Yeah sales are good but there gets a point when you have so much that you haven’t listened to that buying more and more is ludicrous. There will always be sales There are sales and there are sales. I usually base my buy or don't buy decision on just how good the sale is.

EDIT : Sorry, my bad. Just happened to notice DE in your To-do list. The effect of lack of sleep...

A bigger backlog? That's really impressive! (And I mean that in a good way - it means you're set for a month's worth of rain, let alone 'a' rainy day ) I'm also missing about 50 Main Range releases too, so you've easily got a bigger backlog than me right there Nope, still only one series through Dalek Empire. While a massive backlog's great because you won't run out of listening material, it also takes a while to get around to listening to everything I'm hoping to have gotten through at least Series 2 by the end of the year, but I'm too sure it's going to happen... I've almost finished Graceless: Series 1 though, so I'll be able to give you my opinion on that tomorrow Then you might increase your backlog even further...

There are sales and there are sales. I usually base my buy or don't buy decision on just how good the sale is. Lol yir a big finish junkie lol but i do agree that their sales are pretty exceptional when they do them Signs you are addicted to Big Finish. I started the thread on the official Big Finish forum (before it shut down) to talk myself out of buying more stuff. It didn't work.

But, actually I meant that some Big Finish sales are better than other Big Finish sales. They don't always give the same amount off every time they do a sale. So I buy based on how much off the original price the sale is and how much I feel I can spend at the moment. My spouse thinks I'm nuts. He says, "If you want it, buy it!"

That was my philosophy for all of last year, hence the ridiculous back log. Completely worth it though

It depends on how you look at it, my friend I get pressurised at times, but as you know, I’ve been busy with a lot of other stuff the last few months, so I haven’t been active here. As far as I remember, here goes- 1. Most of the MR - I can’t even count 2. 4DA 3. Aliens among us - 3 (yes, it’s still pending) 4 The Doctor’s daughter 5. New countermeasures 2 6. UNIT - Cyber Reality 7. Time war 2 (yes, still pending) And yeah, I’m waiting for you to finish Dalek Empire. And many others that I can’t even remember

It's just a lot of fun with little to no carry over plot, so if you get caught up doing other things you can come back to it without really needing to remember all that much about the previous episodes Not that it matters too much - the downloads aren't going anywhere; just fit them in when you can (Like me and Dalek Empire... )

Whovitt - yeah I can do Jenny first. Coming from a break, it makes sense. I’m waiting for 11D chronicles (I’m going to blind purchase it), I just loved everything about the 10D chronicles set. I’m deliberately putting off Torchwood main range for now(that’s in my backlog too) Anything dark and heavy on the mind can wait.

It's not too dark and heavy, but Graceless tends a bit more towards the Torchwood side of things than Doctor Who, so that might influence your decision of whether you might want that or not.

To be honest, I don't go for every sale Big Finish puts on. If it's a good sale and something I really want, I do go for it, regardless of my listening backlog.
Other items, I know they'll be on sale again and I can decide to wait till then.
