I wonder why Big Finish chose July, the same month as an existing box-set for the Eighth Doctor and The Legacy of Time Release!? There is no anniversary relating to July that I can see to be celebrated for the EDAs. Sirens of Time was released in July 1999, and that was Big Finish's first Doctor Who release. So July 2019 is their special Doctor Who anniversary month. Though it will be a bit overwhelming I wouldn't be surprised if all the special anniversary releases come out in that month. Ok if all the special releases come out that month it would make sense, although logistically that would be a big headache for Big Finish. I just thought that they would space the Eigth Doctor out a bit, but then Finish 2018 with glutif Seventh Doctor adventures and then start 2019 with back to back Fourth Doctor boxsets in the first three months of the year. Perhaps this is a new trend and we will discover that quarter two of 2019 will be a trilogy for the Sixth Doctor in the Maine range along with hus special edition boxset plus he will guest star in UNIT 8....one can but hope!

Now that I've gotten over my fanboy squeeing that Sheridan/Lucie is coming back, can we talk about the title of the set for a second? Specifically, how utterly bland and....just, beige it is? I hope it's just a placeholder until something better is announced. So what would you have suggested? All I can think of is Miss LucieBecause we do.

I find the decisions BF make about what is given a jewel case and what’s given the individual case treatment sometimes strange. As well as the pricing. I have no issue with the jewel case housed in a slipcover; it saves space and I tend to prefer the artwork design on the spines of a thinner slipcase. I do think if a higher fledged release is given the jewel case treatment, there should still be individual covers, albeit as a download like Gallifrey: Time War. I never realized that the separate art was download only. I really hope we get more of that. It makes a high profile release like The Further Adventures of Lucie Miller feel more special than the run of the mill boxset. Gallifrey: Time War was a very nice package and Big Finish have stated their intention for more new ranges to go this route. So I was surprised that the Comic Strip Adaptations look to be the same. Regard GTW the artwork for each release was (very small) on the back cover, but more importantly printed on each disc which I liked. Only a four page “booklet”, so it was a waste to have the CD jewel case cover reproduced on the front of that AND on the cardboard slip cover. With printing and paper at such a premium for Big Finish it seems a waste to have three front covers all the same! Plus I think it would be a good marketing idea for only the sets purchased direct from Big Finish to have the cardboard sleeve...with a different cover.

The individual covers for each story could also come as a postcard-style print inside the jewel case like Silva Screen did with the S7 soundtrack.

I'm torn between being glad to hear more Lucy and sad that Eight's boxset isn't Company of Friends Vol. 2 with more from all his companions (including Fitz and Mary).

The BBC Radio 7 airing of Blood of the Daleks was the first Big Finish I listened to. I had watched the TV Movie and wanted more McGann as The Doctor, and when looking into the audio dramas there was a forum post about it starting on Radio 7! Probably literally thousands of audios later and I still have a soft spot for the duo. I'm really looking forward to hearing in next year.

Sorry if this seems like more negativity...
I am trying to understand why Nick should state in the news announcement
“Although it becomes very clear, very quickly that she and the Doctor have had many adventures after Human Resources before we meet her in the first of our new stories.”
Wouldn’t it be better to say that it continues straight after the series one finale?
As it is I just think what we’re those stories and why didn’t we get them!?
Perhaps the plan it to create for themselves more gaps that they can return to in the future...so perhaps thinking about it I have answered my own question.

I t to be specifically clear that this was not a case of resurrecting Lucie from the dead

That was my impression, also. Yeah I don’t think there is any room for doubt there. Lucie Miller died. Lucie Miller is dead. These are just untold stories of her traveling with 8.

My impression was that they were essentially clarifying that it takes place closer to Dead London than Human Resources, because they want to use a fully formed Lucie Who’s used to travelling with the Doctor, rather than coming out the back of Human Resources where they’re settled with each other, but don’t necessarily know each other all that well.

Hello again.
I am delighted to hear that Lucie and the 8th Doctor are off on new adventures. Their exploits on the digital outpost BBC RADIO 7 should have been given a wider audience.
My favourites: Horror of Glam Rock, Human Resources, Max Warp, Brave New Town, Orbis, Death in Blackpool and its predecessor Zygon Who Fell to Earth and most of Season 4 particularly Book of Kells and Lucie Miller.
I enjoyed these stories so much because of the pairing of the romantic Doctor with the pragmatic Blackpool lass. She, like Donna and Bill take the Doctor down a peg or two. They challenge him. There is then a great dynamic at the heart of every story.

Not bringing Lucie back from the dead is fine with me as it would lesson the impact of the brilliant To The Death, but more Eight & Lucie stories are very welcome... fill those gaps Nicholas and you'll have no complaints from me!

Is there really any doubt or confusion that this isn't undoing the events of To The Death? It is spelled out as plain as it could be by Nick in the press release:“I have always been clear that I wouldn’t reverse the finality of Lucie’s departure,” continues Nick. “That would somehow seem like cheating and would lessen the emotional impact of what we did. So my plan was always to revisit Lucie earlier on in her adventures with the Eighth Doctor. It’s pretty much what we do with every classic companion-and-Doctor pairing, so why not do it with Lucie?”

8 certainly has a lot of companions in 2019, doesn't he? Benny, River, Lucie, Liv, Helen & Bliss.
