So while I got into Dark Shadows for Quentin, and then fell in love with Victoria and Burke, I think the characters/family I love the best that stick around through the whole thing have gotta be the Trasks, primarily portrayed by the most excellent Jerry Lacey. What's your favorite Trask story/episode, and who's your favorite Trask? Of the audios, I think Communion might be Lacey's best outing as a "Trask", though he's probably had better Tony Peterson stories (who is also a Trask, if Vengeance at Collinwood is to be believed ). My fav member of the family to actually bear the name though would have to be Isaiah, and I do hope they get back to his story at some point.

I think Reverend Trask is a wonderful, wonderful character. The passing of time has not limited his snake-like hypocrisy one bit. Jerry Lacy plays him to perfection, now as much as ever. My favourite audio might well be The Wicked and the Dead (with The Carrion Queen taking very close second place). Both showcase the sinful old reptile at his best. There is so much to explore with Trask that every story involving him is both hugely enjoyable, and only scratching the surface. Oh for a boxset featuring Charity and Gregory (and other manifestations of that illustrious family)!

You put me in the mood when i got home so i slipped in Fall Of The House Of Trask and my favourite is Charity so far I love Charity too. In the TV series, she starts out as rather unlikable, but with the introduction of Pansy, plus the brilliant portrayal by Nancy Barrett, followed by wonderful moments on the Trask audios, she quickly becomes one to root for. And that initial distaste for her priggish character has to be chalked up to being brow-beaten by her overbearing and cruel father! For the male Trasks, of course it's Gregory (overbearing and cruel, though he may be). Whereas his ancestor, the witch-hunter Rev. Trask firmly believes what he's doing for his God is for the greater good, Gregory fully realizes he's a big fraud, so his hypocrisy and phony righteousness becomes all the more entertaining! I just wish he didn't beat children and treat Rachel, Tim and Charity (not to mention Minerva and Judith) so cruelly! But that does make his comeuppance (and later reappearance!) all the more lovely--and satisfying. Oh--and my favorite Trask story....tough one. It's a toss up between The Poisoned Soul and Fall of the House of Trask. But all-time favorite Trask moment? Got to be when he encounters his daughter, in the persona of Pansy Faye, for the very first time! "....I'll do the 'oochie-coo, and the ta-ra-boom-dee-ay...."

Well, Lamar was ok, but never really developed all that well in the TV series. We need him in an audio...perhaps with Roxanne Drew. Calling Donna Wandrey!!!

Pansy/Charity is one of my favourite Dark Shadows performances.
I especially love the moment she takes one look at Quentin and KNOWS his secret.

Nancy does the dual role very well and i know i read somewhere before that someone questioned whether she recorded the two vocals separately or in the one take.

I think that Big Finish has done wonderfully extending the Trask tales. I would Big Finish to somehow officially tie Tony Peterson in with the Trasks, especially in the Tony and Cassandra Series. I am sure the writers and of course Lara Parker could have fun with the witch's response, considering her familiarity with the family line. In many ways, Tony has come to understand Cassandra's less favorable background, and having the witch do the same with his background would be interesting.

Vengeance at Collinwood actually confirms that Tony's a Trask! It also reveals that there's a modern day "Trask Industries". Hopefully someday they'll actually get that recorded, and start expanding on it like they've done with Return to Collinwood... My current theory is that Isaiah is Tony's father. How we get from Charity to Isaiah though... I feel like we're missing a generation or two in there somewhere.

Sadly Vengeance at Collinwood is not one I have heard, but I do like that it's already out there.

Maybe one Trask fathered more than one child who split off from the main Trask influence (twins perhaps), and that led to Isaiah and Tony.

Sadly Vengeance at Collinwood is not one I have heard, but I do like that it's already out there. It’s never been recorded, to my understanding. It was performed live by the reunion cast at one of the DS Festivals, just like it’s predecessor Return to Collinwood. But, RtC was recorded. Vengeance at Collinwood was not. So, only the attendees of that particular Fest have actually heard VaC. A complete synopsis was floating around online sometime ago, so many of us have read that....but beyond that it’s up in the air!

Would be neat if he takes up the place of Angelique's vampire love interest in plays set after this

We need more women Trasks. Idk if they should all be played by Nancy Barrett, but you'd think there'd be as many daughters as there are sons

Thanks for sharing the synopsis and review. I don't think I've ever seen anything more than the few snippets fans have shared in passing on the forums. Certainly does leave room for the fated Trash/Peterson connection. In the meantime, I guess Tony's cousin Lord Trent Malkin and his wife isn't too bad of a family tree.
