I assume that the woman on the cover of the first CD is Lucy Briggs-Owen who according to the write up is playing a character called The Nursemaid.
Do we think she will act as the companion in these stories? A name like Nursemaid sounds vaguely Time Lord-esq, but in the picture she doesn't have the traditional look.
Just like everyone else I am really looking forward to this. Hopefully we will get a trailer soon.

I wonder if Engines of War will be adapted?

I wonder if Engines of War will be adapted? I hope not. I really like the book but with such a limited amount of War Doctor stories it would be a shame to double up on one so soon.

Good point, but given Hurt's very busy schedule, I can't help but wonder if the War box sets will be it in terms of new War Doctor content from the Big Finish. Engines of War would make a nice epilogue.

I wonder if Engines of War will be adapted? I vaguely recall Mr. Briggs talking about novel adaptations, saying that they weren't going to adapt those that were readily available, or had audiobooks versions. I know it was all in context of before the New Series came to BF, but I would think it holds even more true. Plus, having listened to the audiobook, I can't really imagine it being served well as an audio play. Certain parts that are a bit too, visual, as it were.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Even though I have so many issues with the War Doctor concept, this sounds so good. I am conflicted. It is Big Finish. I should not be. I feel exactly the same way.

I wouldn't expect anything that is currently commercially available on audiobook to be adapted, or at least not for several years to come, I just think the various rights holders, production companies etc might get a little upset, and also, especially for publishers that don't really understand the difference between what BF do and an audiobook, it would be hard to explain why you want both.

Is it possible that the synopsis suggests that 'The Innocent' follows on from 'Night of the Doctor'?
Especially:
"Arch manipulator and Time Lord strategist, Cardinal Ollistra receives shock news of the Doctor’s death."
"If only the Doctor were still alive."
It could mean anything really, any death/plot device that serves a single story, but it could conveniently convey that the Doctor is gone and now we have a warrior. Obviously the cover art may suggest otherwise.

Perhaps like Nick they will give him his own box set.

I rather like the idea that the range starts with the Doctor dead and the Daleks massing their final assault on Galifrey. It's the sort of thing you couldn't do in most ranges.

Then a situation comes along that's right up the Doctor's alley, or needs the Doctor's approach to solve rather than the Warrior's. It could be interesting to hear him have to balance his new personality against his innate "Doctorishness".

That's an good point about the Doctor's thematic death, I wonder at this late point in the time war, how the War Doctor feels about his predecessors ultimately pointless stance of neutrality, as he states in Name he fought without choice in the name of 'peace and sanity', but DOTD shows him as a broken burnt out man, still reluctant to use the moment, it will be interesting to see if and how he snaps out of the warrior mindset when a doctor is needed... It's certainly going to be an interesting balancing act...
