How can I do this in this day and age?
Yes, a slightly bonkers request I know, but how do I record (in real time) a playing track/programme/audio say, from my phone to an audio cassette?
It used to be as easy as hitting the REC button to capture a playing radio programme to cassette. Now, not so straight forward.
So, do I need a recording tape player with a line-in, therefore playing my phone through this and pressing record?
No idea really, so I'm all ears.

I might have an idea. What's the make/model of your phone and your cassette player?

same as always have....
from line out or headphone jack on phone or PC to line in on the tape recorder......then do a test to check volume if using head phones...….then just record

I might have an idea. What's the make/model of your phone and your cassette player? LG L90 (my flashy Samsung stopped working) and my cassette player is TCM 150 hand-held with a speaker (V nice, which I'm sure has a line in).

That's what I though: Headphone jack from phone in to cassette player line in.

Yeah, all you'll need is a male-to-male stereo audio cable (something like this) that fits the phone jack and the player line in. If it hasn't come with the recorder, it should be easy enough to grab online.

Wolfie, it is actually a TCM 450 (all metal body, very lovely it is to) but no line-in....but it does have a mic slot which i think will do the same job.

Yeah, same socket, different name. It should serve in the same way with the same cable.
