You're not bananas, she is and she's back for more! Michelle Gomez is reprising the role of Missy for four stories, written by Roy Gill, John Dorney, Nev Fountain and Jonathan Morris, and she's meeting Rufus Hound as the Meddling Monk. www.bigfinish.com/news/v/missy-returns

I'll admit, I was never the biggest fan of Missy, but then I wasn't the biggest fan of Class and Big Finish did it justice (obviously ). I'm therefore definitely not missing out on this set Do people think that they'll create a new theme tune for Missy, or will they carry over the War Master one? Or a variation on the War Master one, maybe? That would probably make the most sense.

So if my reckoning is correct she can only ever meet Peter Capaldi or any Doctor later than him. Or David Warner.

We knew it was coming, but to have confirmation is great, along with a cover and writers list too! Interesting that Big Finish co-ordinated to record Michelle from America. Guessing they did the same for Eric Roberts. Wonder if that could open up possibilities for them more?

While only a 1/3 of what she did read as Master to me, the other 2/3 was just sassy sexy badass morally grey Moffat character(who’s name is more Moffat hypocrisy), Gomez is a joy to watch and she’s clearly loving every moment and if this set is even 10% what The War Master was like then it’ll be utterly brilliant

Great news.
Rufus Hound looks like Henry VIII on the cover, I guess his episode is Divorced, Beheaded, Regenerated that was mentioned on the obscure news thread a while back
Not sure how I feel about post-Time War Missy meeting the pre-Time War Monk, assuming that it is a pre Time War Monk. If post-Time War Time Lords can meet pre-Time War Time Lords so easily then it makes a nonsense of the whole "lonely Doctor / last of the time lords" thing from Ecclestone/Tenant/Smith eras. Then again, maybe the Monk will be revealed to have survived the Time War?

Nah this ain't for me, I've never liked Gomez interpretation of the character to pantomime so that's £23 Lizzie Windsors I've saved not pre-ordering this.

That’s interesting, thanks. Oops, my mistake, apologies! Loads of the Dark Shadows have been done with the stateside cast recording in the US (Harvest of Souls was recorded with KLS in the US and Colin Baker in the UK), and it was the same for the Stargate stories. One of the difficulties in recording the box sets was that some recording sessions involved Skype!

The cover looks gorgeous, far more restrained than the initial Lady Christina one.

With three Master boxsets in consecutive months, for us in the UK this is turning into The Masters Occupation of Winter!

Nice. I really disliked her when she first appeared — not because of anything silly like gender, I just didn’t like the way she was written and acted — but I thought both those aspects improved enormously as her run on the TV series went on. Looking forward to this release!

I am also in the camp of people who disliked her at first. But she has grown on me and I absolutely loved her in the end. Looking forward to this!

Entirely possible he rode out the war as Rufus and regenerated afterwards, though. But in the same sense, in a couple of comics, Ainley faced Matt Smith and Delgado faced Capaldi. And hey, Ainley knew the Valeyard somehow.

The children on the cover art matches that, as does the general appearance of Missy! I think it’s safe to say the Tudor looking Monk is the second story. Nev Fountain is the perfect choice to write for Missy.
