It's hard to believe it's been so long. In retrospect it feels like release 0.5 of the J&L range more than a CC. It's a bit hard to listen to them now...it's still very raw that Trevor left us. I've not managed to listen to Forever for that reason.

It's kinda weird - I was able to listen to other ranges when the actor had passed on, albeit sadly. John Hurt is one of my favourite actors ever, well before he was in Who, and I could listen to his posthumous boxset. But with J&L? It feels more raw for some reason. Maybe because George Lightfoot and Trevor were both warm, wonderful figures. Listening to Trevor talk about his life in the interview disc with Nick was very tender. I just can't bring myself to end it.

I think there is something very intimate about audio and the more time spent listening to a person's voice in a specific role builds a bond between listener and performer. Jago and Litefoot, and Ellie & Quick, and the actors who played them, became friends. And I totally subscribe to the if I don't finish it, then it isn't really over school of thinking. Having John Hurt as the War Doctor was still almost a novelty...and wonderful surprise,,,when the world lost him. I felt a great deal more investment with Trevor & Chris than I did with John Hurt.

I cannot go without Jago & Litefoot in my life for long.
I have already started a relisten.
Just one a week. This week will be 1.3 The Spirit Trap
So The Mahogany Murderers was a couple of weeks ago.
When the range ended I thought to myself that it was a shame they never did a story like The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes story two hander story The Abergavenny Murder...then I relistened to their first audio story together and realised they already had!

Trevor has the last words, but given what he said, it’s heartbreaking.

It’s a sweet comment showing how highly he regards his character, but unfortunate given they’re his last words for BF.
I don’t mean to put anyone off of listening to it.

But the 'Forever' extras end (very appropriately) with David Richardson.

Just had a re-listen and aside from the very 1st 2 minutes for a certain Barmaids debut you really can believe you've just dropped in on the crew again for another jaunt rather then the audience's very 1st reconnection. The flow/spark between them is just there from the off. Regards mark687

I too have yet to do Series 13 & Forever, although I did listen to the first story again (first of the official series, second counting TMM) since Trevor passed - it was sort of research for the Jago & Litefoot anthology, but the kind of research that's nothing less than a delight. They were always on such fine form, right from the start. Hope to hear more from Christopher Benjamin soon.
