Next up, we should be expecting to see Lauren Cohan do her (for the time being) swan song on the show. If they give her the pay rise she was looking for and/or her new TV show bombs, you might see here back next year but you've already seen Maggie's last scene in TWD. That's interesting - 2 main character actors having their requested termination of their contracts granted in the same episode! No flashbacks in the next episode to explain Maggie's absence? I'm assuming she disappears (secretly during the last 2 minutes of the most recent episode) when it's revealed that the story has now time jumped ahead by 6 years. Stevo: Was the secret society "helicopter" concept an original creation of the TV series? Do the mysterious sightings of the helicopter exist in TWD comic? A yes or no type of answer is perfectly fine. (Shelter us TV viewers that haven't read the comics from major spoilers.)

The helicopters are one of Scott Gimple’s ‘genius’ ideas — they’re not from the comics.

Digi has already replied, but I can also confirm the answer to your question is No. That plot line is exclusive to TWD TV series.

Walking Dead S9 Ep6, this shows officially dead in the water i think, without Rick the shows feels hollow & souless & confirmed my worst fears, i don't like this 5 year time jump, we got characters now behaving differently & new relationships without any dramatic build up, at least Negan had a haircut.
I'm officially done with this show now.

Weird i was so against a female Doctor but find myself enjoying this series, it needs tweaking with the villains but i prefer the more serious tone to the show which i felt been missing for years. Walking Dead however 5 year time jumps zombies havent decayed to dust, Maggies had no decent finale although i suspect she'll be recurring character, Rick to me was backbone of the show, losing Karl was a mistake Rick leaving just seals it for me.

I'm officially done with this show now. As that you're not a casual fan of this show, I think it would be more level-headed to give the entire Season 9 a chance before hastily writing it off because Andrew Lincoln wanted to leave to spend more time with his kids. As far as I'm concerned Season 9 (so far) has been as good as the show has ever been. I thought the latest episode 6 (without Rick) was equally as entertaining as the previous episode. The 6 year time skip provides a ton of possibilities to drop in bombshells like Michonne having a Rick baby and Maggie's to be revealed disappearance. And, I LOVED the "don't let them get away" ending - I haven't been that elated about TWD in a long time! Simply put, the wheels of the show didn't overnight fall off due to Rick not being in the very next episode. I'm sad about losing the franchise's *central character* as well, but for good or bad, it will force the writers to come up with new direction that is usually needed for any long run program.

I have to agree! Great episode—and allows Daryl, Carol, and Michonne the real chance to shine in new directions. Not that the three of them weren’t always amazing because they were. One thing I did not follow....I’m assuming, as you said, that Michonne’s child is meant to be Rick’s. However, the six year time jump makes that very weird. That child was a 2 or 3 year old toddler at most! Not a child of 6. So, I’m kinda hoping for a different explanation for him, i.e., not Rick’s kid. I guess we shall see!

With the reasoning of a 9 month pregnancy, I guess that we can entertain the notion that the "Rick" child is 5 years old. Admittedly though, as an unobservant male, I'm rather clueless of what a child of that age should look like. Let's pick on Scott Gimple for picking out that actor...ha-ha. Hopefully the origin story of Michonne's "X" scar will be interesting!

Best moment: Savior: “You’ll never see us again.” Carol: “I know.”
