Must say I’m really excited for this whole new era. I’ve loved the 55 years that’s come before, so I’m sure I’ll continue to love the show.
Has anyone seen the photo of Jodie that the official Twitter and Instagram have posted this morning? The crane yard she’s in is just a 10 minute walk from my house! I’ve a good feeling her sonic screwdriver will be made with the finest Sheffield steel!
It’s sad that two people have already decided to vote poorly. I do hope they watch this evening and end up enjoying it.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

For the Aussie fans... was sitting in front of the TV set There weren't nothin' much else to do. Then along came this amazing co, They called him Doctor Who. It was half past six on the ABC, just before the news No ads to interrupt me on an interspacial cruise. There was moving metal madness, All programmed to destroy The Doctor has them covered, To thwart their every ploy. Exterminate! Exterminate! That evil monotone The Doctor fights the Daleks, anon and all alone. Doctor Who is gonna fix it Doctor Who will put it right As he moves across the galaxy, at twice the speed of light. Back into the future, the TARDIS travels time With his beautiful assistant and his trusty mate K-9 A painted blue policeman's booth, But when inside the doors, A vast interior complex Defies dimensional laws. His robot dog is by his side, he packs a powerful punch And he always has the answers when it comes down to the crunch. The threats of time and outer space, He'll always keeps in line. He'll put the nasties in their place, Throughout the realms of time. The why and where of how and when, the facts beyond and through The what and if and maybe will depend on Doctor Who. A little reminder that Who is back where it belongs. This was one of the first songs I bought on iTunes many years ago. Bullamakanka should be known for far more than "Home Among The Gum Trees."

Oh, that one... hell I once had that on 45RPM vinyl - not sure where it ever got to - most of my stuff is now all boxed up. I never bought it online - as I transferred my 45 to the computer at some point, so I'm kind of surprised I didn't immediately spot it. I think "vast interior complex" was the key line for me.

It’s sad that two people have already decided to vote poorly. I do hope they watch this evening and end up enjoying it. "He voted... poorly..."
{Spoiler} 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' reference, of course. And one of the biggest understatements in film history! I don't think a premature 1 star vote will cause instant desiccation and collapse into a heap of dust but...

Anyone who votes the lowest score to register displeasure at something they haven't even seen clearly has a point they feel they need to prove. I'm sure they feel they've achieved something and exercised their 'voice'. Rather like the crusaders who voted the Series 11 DVD the lowest score on Amazon recently (some months before its release, of course), these people truly are sad cases. They'll be taking a hammer to their televisions next.

Thing is, there's loads of TV I know I won't like, but I then don't watch it.
I mean, something like Eastenders, I hate it, I wish it had never been conceived of, let alone polluted our airwaves for so long, but I avoid getting wound up by it by not watching it, and I certainly don't go a find a place full of Eastender fans so that I can tell them how mistaken they are.

Sheffield indeed, and the 1960's streets-in-the-sky concept a.k.a Park Hill Flats. There is a good urban explorer vid on Youtube if anyone wants to check them out in their abandoned state, with nature slowly but surely winning out. m.youtube.com/watch?v=-3NdmPIhTRsWow, I hadn't realised, the largest part of the estate was torn down in around 1989 (about 70% of it), the small part that was left was modernised and re-let after that.
How disastrous is that for housing, even with a huge refit and rebuild only 25 years ago, these only got to the age of 50. Housing is supposed to last 100 years or more.
It was a great idea at the time, but it became such a hive of depravation and villany that it made Mos Eisley spaceport look like Monte Carlo. In the C19th the area was known as Sky Edge, home to the city's notorious razor gangs. Great to have a Dr Who set in Sheffield, my adopted home for the past 25 years.

Well I'd suspect if I'd voted it down, then seen Tony's post saying the mods can see who voted it that and noting it....I'd be pretending it's a joke too.

Am sure even Eastender fans also have differing opinions amongst themselves I hear it in the staff tea room all the time

If people are getting that worked up because randoms on a forum have voted in an online poll in a way they disapprove of, can I suggest they:
a) Just mentally subtract the 2 votes in their head when evaluating people's responses b) Calm down before they give themselves an aneurysm

I recall ********** posting a while back about reviewers having a habit of posting consistently low scores against writers whom they have an issue with. The same issue happens all the time on Amazon. Low scores posted just to cancel out high ratings posted by other reviewers.

Annoyingly I'm going to be working a night shift tonight (of all nights!), so won't see Jodie's debut until late tomorrow.
Needless to say I will probably be sticking my fingers in my ears and singing a few "lalala's" while surfing the Web during my breaks... 😝😝😝
