I just want to chime in here a little, I would really rather not have had a live poll until after the show aired. I know I won't vote until two things happen: first I have to see the episode, then I'll need some time to think about it, before I feel I rate a vote. Still - I think there are some peoples out there that are pre-disposed to not liking the show no matter how good or bad it turns out to be and their low votes aren't going to change. Now, I do think I'd rather have had a 10 star poll instead of five, but that's just a niggle. You are not (unlike the pathetic ones who have already voted) forced to vote now just because a poll already exists though.

Annoyingly I'm going to be working a night shift tonight (of all nights!), so won't see Jodie's debut until late tomorrow. Needless to say I will probably be sticking my fingers in my ears and singing a few "lalala's" while surfing the Web during my breaks... πππ Leave the internet behind-take a book instead leave your phone at home What? Read a book? And miss out on a juicy nugget of information or spoiler that I can chastise myself for seeking out and therefore spoiling my own fun / anticipation? Nah.... πππ

Wow! No seriously wow!
Belly laughs, tears, totally different directing, different filmal tone, a Doctor willing to attend to the aftermath and hang around (for a short while anyway) but The Doctor none the less.
All my fears washed away, no... blown away. That was better than I even hoped for, let alone better than I feared.
How many more weeks does the series run for? Cause now I've got something (a dateable something) that means I want to live till then, and I came into this series expecting I would not see its end.

I liked it. Looking good so far. The only thing I didn't like is that Nan's sacrifice seemed a bit in vain. I would have preferred the Cable Monster was doing something more overtly threatening than flailing on a crane. But the funeral scene that followed was really good, so I can't complain too much. The ending reminded me of Antman. Very less than ideal.
EDIT: I really liked the scene where the Doctor builds her new Sonic.

So She's 10 in a different body Yes. Very much. Sentence structure and intonation are extremely Tennanty.
(Not sure about the episode overall. All right if you like that sort of thing, but is it 'Doctor Who'?)

Fantastic! Taut, exciting and interesting. Allayed pretty much all my fears.
The only thing that annoyed me slightly was the bit at the end where they flashed up the faces of all the "famous" people who will be starring in future episodes. That felt a bit cheesy, but the story itself was great!

I think the End event worked better than the opening scene but stuff like it is going to get the general audience back on side I feel.

That was different.
A far more character focused affair than recent years. Whittaker really took on the part well, I like her take on the Doctor. The music was much more understated (the theme tune was a thing of beauty), and that was very refreshing.
Chibnall has setup his stall perfectly. I wouldn't say I loved it, but as a fresh start it was spot on.
Ooh and was surprised by how prominent Ryan's dyspraxia turned out to be. Very much appreciated. (Also, his attempts to ride a bike were very accurate, I say as a dyspraxic in my twenties who still can't ride a bike)

Re-watching already, and what I'm noticing now, is the music score, it so very different to anything on TV I can think of, its far more understated, yet also very sci-fi, and really is part of the story telling.

Brilliant. The talk beforehand was that this was going to be something to rival the shows we see on Netflix. It did. Great production values, fun story, really liked the companions. & then there is Jodie. Fantastic! Captivating, funny, intelligent, excitable. Basically everything I want in the Doctor & didn't get with the last one. This is a true breath of fresh air.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I've always been hesitant on basing my expectations on the first story of the new doctor. I always prefer them to get a bit settled first. Certainly enjoyed it enough to keep on watching.

Yes. The score was amazing. I know he has his fans but I often felt Murray Gold was a bit to OTT with his music. Loved this. The new version of the theme was also great, liked how it was dropped in for a split second when The Doctor turned up.

Well I didn't have to adjust my TV Volume with every Cue change so that was a plus, also wide-screen format wasn't as distracting as I feared.

I liked it. It wasn't up there with The Eleventh Hour for debut episodes, but Jodie was great and I'm enjoying the new companions so far.

Just checking the twitterverse, they love it, #DoctorWho is currently trending #1 worldwide, #2 in the US no less, and oddly (to my mind at least) #1 in Egypt.
