What I’ve not seen mentioned is that Nick did have to award a prize to a Horror Blakey (people that don’t listen to the podcast may not understand this reference!) Yes he did (a Pint of Beer) and the winners costume was really quite good.

Thank you Mark for asking the hard questions and not taking no for an answer!

Was there any mention of either of the two Big Finish Originals series due out next year?

Going back 55 years, Ian & Barbara/Ben & Polly both had insinuated relationships. It doesn’t need to be the focus - Luke Smith could have been gay and had a boyfriend at Uni that gets drawn into the world of Sarah Jane, and it’d have been both perfectly fine and great outreach in terms of equality on the BBC.

I watched Who all my life i coped perfectly well not knowing if any of the characters were dominatrix on the side,it is always the least interesting parts of the adventures.

Where’s dominatrix come into this 😂 I was talking about a 17 year old being gay and how that would have been a good thing to put on TV in the 2010s. It didn’t need to be the focus - just give him a boyfriend. Job done. Though I’d guess Liv Chenka if you want to know who’s a dominatrix. 😂

Call me old fashioned i just dont need it in my audios.😜 I bought the first Graceless set and really didn’t like it because of the adult attitude of it and never bought another series. I really liked the characters in The Key 2 Time trilogy which was a fun and light hearted romp, so Graceless came as a bit of a shock simply because of my own expectations. I love Charley, and again my expectations were high regarding her solo adventures, but I really didn’t like her second boxset which could be described as a more grown up story (the words I would use to describe it would certainly be termed adult).

Luke left the show as a regular at the start of series 4, making appearances via video chatting until he visited Bannerman Road in the final story of series 5. Hardly shoving a gay relationship down our throats. Luke was created as a human mean, the average of all the visitors to the Bubbleshock factory. Lots of boys, lots of girls, it wouldn’t be surprising if this influenced his sexuality and he wound up bi. Besides, we’ve got the Clyde and Rani ship that’s been heavily teased by the writers. One of the Wizards vs Alien scripts, The Thirteenth Floor, was repurposed from an unproduced SJA script that would have explored the relationship between Clyde and Rani.

If i am going to get something for nieces and nephews or even for my parents i tend to pre listen or watch it. Some might be considered as contemporary or whatever.I just find a lot of it spoils my listening.I know the Graceless did till i got the story but is it one i would give to someone else probably not.

Especially when they are blatantly obvious only inserted to please the crowds. I am just like "get on with it....".
So yeah, not the target audience here. I have not even seen/ read 50 shades, because I think I would rather poke glowing red irons under my nails.

I appreciate where Simon Guerrier is coming from for Graceless. It's two sheltered young women who have to fend for themselves in a universe where people are willing to exploit them and their abilities. Episode 1 does go a bit overboard, but it's set in a space station where vice and self-interest is how people survive, and what Abby goes through is because she's mentally susceptible to the influences around her. The actions she and Zara take, no matter how well intentioned, have consequences that they have to face. However the whole experience takes the black and white morality Amy and Zara had in Key 2 Time and swirls them into shades of grey, and all they have to rely on is each other.
If you're after a more family friendly Graceless, that's Jenny you want.

I love Outlander/Game of Thrones and Poldark one of them i would be unembarrassed to give to my parents lol. In the audios imply it by all means turn Jago and litefoot into lovers whatever just dont include the bed or kissing making out scenes lol just not necessary. Am interested in the Charley box sets but going by what am reading hahaha am now not so sure.I want sci-fi stories well told adventure action drama i dont need an audio of what Ian and Barbara may or may not have done in the Tardis just bored me rigid 😎
