Happy 90th Birthday Tom Baker, the eccentric legend who taught me being different was OK.
I adore this man just a shame I never got to meet him.

Totally agree. This total and utter male cattle poop.
Aussie normally appears to be a strong person, with attitude, so I just cannot understand at all why he lets these obviously incompetents run and ruin his life.
Does this company use him as a guinea pig to see what will happen in the worst case? Really sounds a bit like it.
As I said before 2 of the 3 Managers were on Annual Leave the last few days..
In my company, people have been recalled from annual leave for much, much lesser reasons.... Just saying.
Not sure you are aware how severe this break of trust would affect other people... I personally do not think I could go on there.

Slightly baffled today. OFCOM (which if you're not in the UK is the quango that oversees 'communication' bodies, from the BBC to the Royal Mail (and if you're not in the UK a 'quango' is a quasi-non-governmental organisation and yes, 'Yes Minister' is one of my favourite comedies (and if you're not in the UK 'Yes, Minister' is a comedy about the battles of and between a government minister and his officials. Phew, that ends the explanatory hole-digging. )))
...anyway, OFCOM has suggested that the Royal Mail might reduce deliveries of letters to as little as 3 times per week, because most people don't send many and parcel deliveries are where it's at. Which is true.
But locally at least, the same postie delivers parcels and letters together, so if you're still going to do a daily parcel delivery, why not just stuff the odd letter through too? Not sure what I'm missing. Except, possibly, some post!

Much as I LIKE it, cut Saturdays and give the posties a proper weekend. Hell, I grew up in Ireland, and An Post don't deliver on Saturdays outside the Christmas period, and do you know what? That's absolutely fine. No one cares.

I seldom had a proper weekend. For me my "weekend" might be Monday and Thursday, if I was lucky to get two days off! So I do understand that. But aspirationally, why shouldn't they have a proper weekend? And that's simply a side point in my argument really. The real thrust being Saturday post doesn't need to be a thing at all.

But when people take such jobs surely they know what days they will be working, including Saturdays. But maybe you are right we don't need Saturday post. But I think realistically the result will be fewer staff, not existing staff having a proper weekend.

<Australian Postal Service enters the chat> ...
I haven't seen our postie for Months- seriously. We never get Saturday deliveries, even well before Covid- a few years we would have a Saturday before Xmas but that stopped.
A whole bunch of Post Offices are closing/have closed because "Westfield" who own the shopping malls have pretty much doubled the rent so they all were like "see you"..
Google Australia Post service- the CEO gave himself a Ridiculous pay rise and handed out mega Expensive watches as "incentives" to the Execs, yet cut services, hugely increased the prices - it's never recovered.

(I jest, because yes, there is although it seems a bit random. I agree it's not really necessary now; anything important arriving is likely to be from a business and they're going to be closed until Monday anyway.)

Ok - Update time. Because there is an update as of 5 hours ago.
The 2 Managers were back as of yesterday, my direct Manager presented all the evidence that I had to provide to him.. He personally "interviewed" the 6 staff members (4F and 2M) and got their takes..
I got an apology from him by proxy from them 2 (ppffttt!) .. They are going to speak to the Police under the guise of "he needs to be spoken to/welfare check on him-combined".. He will be firmly and professionally told to calm his farm/ be a mature adult/ get some psychological/psychiatric help..
Under the letter of the law- what he said vs what I was told he said was Just enough for the Police to not pursue fully- I will still take this as a win, he will be told off like a petulant child.
The directive is still out - If he happens to call in- hang up and escalate to a Manager.
Funnily enough my Manager did make the comment that he wouldn't have said what he said if we were face to face. He knows me -rock solid confidence, I only attack when attacked- tit for tat in the verbalisation wars. I always stand up for myself-sometimes you have to "pause" till other dominoes fall your way to strengthen your resolve. Strength Beyond Strength.
So that's settled finally ! (And THANK YOU to those who PM'd me- I felt the love, appreciate it).

Now, I'm not saying that I'm a schadenfreude-ist (that's a lie, yes I am), but the fact that, at the theatre I volunteer at, Peppa Pig yesterday got twice the audience that Simon Brodkin did when we had him last* gave me more pleasure than it would a 'normal' person... 😉
*407 compared to about 198

No slight intended towards those who enjoy his work, but I always saw him as just desperate for attention rather than anything else. Mind you, that's my view on most comics anyway.

I'm not really a 'fan' of his, but ushered for him a year or two ago when he was in the main auditorium as he was a name that I "recognised". At the end of the show he told the audience to "thank the Front Of House Staff for all of their haaaaaaaaaaaaard work" in a tone that, to me, kind-of sounded that he somehow thought that it was our 'fault' that he couldn't really pull an audience in*, which really 'rubbed me the wrong way' (a fact that I think's starting to annoy my mother & a couple of other volunteers there slightly, the amount that I sometimes mention it/moan about him), I am glad each and every time that we get an audience in larger than his. Doubly if it's a family show, ESPECIALLY if it's a kid's show! * The main auditorium's about 1000/1100 & the studio, where he was before, is 100 depending on how the seats are organised.

Obviously, I don’t know him from Adam but that sounds about right from what I have heard and seen about him. Always struck me as an edgy teenager who never quite grew up. Which is fine when you’re in your twenties but not when you’re approaching middle age. Dare I say, perhaps there is some resentment on his part that he never quite became household name status? However, I mustn’t forget he does have some fans so he must be doing something right.

You know what. It's not fun any more. I'm so far behind on my listening I can't join in most of the conversations and I e decided I want to avoid spoilers for TV so that's out as well.
Aunt Vanessa said, when it stops being fun, get out. Well, it's stopped being fun, so I'm getting out.
Wishing everyone fantastic lives.
