So not only do I have to listen to my dumb coworkers' very wrong opinions on politics all day, but I now have to do so while battling stomach problems due to my new medication the doctor has me on.
I did get offered a job interview today though... So here's hoping

I only saw one - the other time I 'experienced' total eclipse but the sun was already "eclipsed" by very thick cloud! Still, the final plunge into darkness was spectacular. Yeah, a couple of my friends traveled to see the totality for this eclipse. One couple I'm friends with apparently spent an "eclipse weekend" with friends and only saw total darkness, but they partied all weekend so it wasn't a lost cause. The other friend also had a cloudy day where she went, but she was able to see the partly eclipse sun faintly through the clouds. Don't think she saw the full eclipse, except for the darkness. The next time there's scheduled to be a total eclipse in the North America, I'll be old Hopefully still around, so there's still hope, but I'm not banking on it. The chances of us catching a 'home' total eclipse in a small country are low, so travelling is almost a necessity. Looking at the stats, we've gone two centuries without one making landfall here - but anyone born in the early 22ndC could see 6 from the U.K.!
I did get one chance at a 'home' total eclipse in 1999 and yes it was the cloudy one! Of course, being England in August, the day before and the day after were beautiful, hot and cloudless. But eclipse day had about the lowest pressure and thickest cloud you could ever get here in summer... and everywhere in the country where the eclipse wasn't total, was clear. Sometimes I don't believe this stuff is just random...

I love the idea of the witch, but I just hope they can expand it a little more than they did in the two sequels. Having said that, I'm still very excited!

I spent about 3 weeks there the year my son graduated from Cambridge University with his Master's degree and we only had one sunny day. That was the day we went punting and it actually got hot. British summers are normally a bit on the cold side for me.

The 1st one was AWESOME.. anything else after that- not so much.
I recall an American mate of mine bought this on NTSC video tape (remember those?) and mailed it to me - I saw this movie before it even hit Australian cinemas !
HUGE fan of all things horror..

Me too!
I think the sequels were patchy but had 'good bits' in them. {Spoiler} The idea of time being distorted in the 2016 one was tantalisingly good - if only they had done more with it. The first one though, was ground breaking. Three times I saw it at the cinema, and three times it got to me. I love it when horror films get under the skin like that. Anyway, we'll see what happens with this new version ...

I kind of have the same reaction when someone says "Sixie" even though Colin Baker does it himself. I think this is the first time I heard anyone say "Fivey".

There was a criminal "incident" in Australia-it's all over the news.. Janet Fielding just did a tweet with a full common sense correct perspective IMHO.
She is awesome.

We have another fan sighting of Mr Baker in his hometown of Kent - so glad he doesn't get hounded by fans. Still with a big smile on his face.

British summers are normally a bit on the cold side for me. You have to enjoy the good bits! Like last year, six weeks of beautiful, hot, sunny weather mid-May to the end of June - then about three more good days total in the whole of July and August! But in 2022, July and August were roasting without a drop of rain. Our weather is very, very random in a way that averages just don't do justice to.
This is why we talk about it all the time...
