We have another fan sighting of Mr Baker in his hometown of Kent - so glad he doesn't get hounded by fans. Still with a big smile on his face. I need to find him. & Kent is a county not a town. Being in Australia that is a foreign word for us. We have suburbs, then towns then states.

Where I grew up was a village which is a part of a Parish which is a part of a Borough which is a part of a County which is a part of England which is a part of UK. Oh and it’s also in a parliamentary constituency too.

Oh and it’s also in a parliamentary constituency too. Plus don't forget some cities have a Mayor for the greater urban area and some Counties also have Districts within them! By my count it's easy to have five layers of elected representatives (Parish - Town - District - County - Westminster) Before Brexit that was six! (I leave it to the reader as to whether or not that is a Brexit Bonus or a Brexit Loss. )
(The politics geek in me is now wondering which area is represented by the largest number of parties simultaneously at different levels...)

Hello Not even a lurker Im afraid - Andy from Oldham. I was on the old forum that Big Finish ran but didnt know about this place till mentioned on a Facebook group. Do we have many old faces from then? Nathan, Jason, Koqullion, David G, Paul from Derby, the other Andrew etc?
By the way to go back to the last page Old Sixie I always found as a handy use to say he's the cuddly uncle version. Big Finish dont really use that for press releases when hes supposed to still be the egotist of the early run. A bit like Sylvester being the master manipulator doesnt really work with stories set during Series 24.
As for Tom the villagers in his area actually agreed to not divulge where he lives. Of course its known but not publicised. They dont tell outsiders and the like. Been that way for years which is quite special in this day and age to still have a place where people respect privacy.

You seem nice. Maybe this is a very different place after all and not for the better.

Most people on the forum were lovely and massive fans. Sad to hear there has been arguments but thats the internet. Given the first person to respond to me acted weird just a few posts up I am not too surprised either. People just being nice is a rarity. Ive left facebook groups about Big Finish for similiar reasons. People more concerned about the so-called dangers of Disney, wokeness and the political than just enjoying DW and BF.

Of the other posters you mentioned, @davygallagher was very active but sadly hasn't been on here since being given a temporary ban a few months ago for calling out (correctly imo) an obvious multi-identity troll. And several other respected posters left in solidarity, though hopefully some are only taking a break and will come back, one day.
As you've already found, almost everyone on this forum are good fans of the show on TV and BF and just enjoy sharing the fun of following the Doctor's adventures. And other random things from solar eclipses to ants to does Australia have counties, to take a few recent examples!

This post comes with a Level 10 CUTENESS ALERT.
We have a wildlife garden I've worked on for several years (just an ordinary-sized back garden on a random street; you don't need rolling acres in the middle of nowhere to create a wildlife haven) and I saw a wood mouse zip across the yard only this morning (we had a busy nest of them in a log pile last autumn). But dormice are several orders of magnitude rarer and harder to please. So this article made my day!

Well the old forum had trolls too and they ruined it. The Facebook group has been ruined by a lack of supervision where some extreme nastiness (the end for me was Varada being announced last week and "We just had an Asian girl.." which the moderators refused to remove - and the post did NOT use the word Asian.) I'm really not sure why some like to just ruin places rather than just let people like things. We support a show with 60 years of TV, 50 years of novels, 25 years of audios, 45 years of comics. I'm sure if they really hate seeing certain people represented, or hearing a song in a silly Christmas episode that much there are a thousand things they could do instead and still not need to even leave the "Whoniverse". As for the last point - why would Australia need counties? Few cities on one coast, few on the other and...outback - 3 sections will do!

So my desktop finally decided to kick the bucket today.
It's precisely a decade old this week, so I'm not surprised, but still it's just one more thing to deal with on top of everything else.
At least I have my laptop in the meantime until I can save up the funds to buy a new one.
Same about certain files/programs that I've lost now though.

I always thought that when I do retire down the line, I’d make a few bits of shelter in the garden for our wildlife chums. A few birdhouses here and there, something for hedgehogs to use, etc. it’s a nice thought if nothing else.
