Alright everyone- just saw on the space weather website that there is another solar storm coming. So everyone who missed out on the aurora last night (like me, I was wandering the fields for 2 hours, no luck), there is another chance tonight! Keep your eyes peeled! I will definitely again wander the fields. www.swpc.noaa.gov/Good luck! It says (but this is England so...  ) that it will be clear again tonight here, so I'll be looking out too.
You might find this site useful for a European magnetometer / aurora forecast site at our latitudes/longitudes. (Lancaster U.K.) Most others I've found are either much further north or in the U.S.
(If the site won't load due to massive traffic like last night, they do also post on TwiXter as aurorawatch.)

No dice.  Well, at least I tried. I at least took a nice picture of the Big Dipper. Need to go to bed now, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning. I just hope that with my luck at the moment, the "spot we have to keep under observation" did not become worse and needs more intense attention. |

I do hope he’s okay. To be honest I found the anger behind those comments in the Devil’s Chord thread, and the abruptness of his departure, a little alarming for this relatively nice corner of the internet.

As a general Policy my area of work doesn't accept face to face meetings- all over phone/online etc.
Exception today. an 83-year-old War Veteran and early retired police officer who was forced to retire due to "active duty permanent injury".
He has a 1/2 wheelchair, he can stand but can't walk, so we couldn't morally and emotionally refuse him access to our Facility.
I spent 1 hour with him. His parting words as he left for a taxi to go back to his Nursing Home "thank you for givng me back my life I feel freer now".
wow.. !

Had a nice evening last night with my scuba diving club.
Our local pool will be renovated this year (it is 50 years old) so we sadly cannot use the local pool.
We have t drive to the next town to do our training.
This is a pain, but cannot be helped.
I really hope I can manage with my late work hour to attend the training.
Diving is one of the things that always helped me along.
