In line with my previous post- the other day we got the quote for renovating our backyard shed/garage. Ouch lots of $$$. 1/2 of it will be my Batcave- the other 1/2 will be just general use/chill out area- solid door with multiple locks so my lil boy and all the nieces and nephews can't walk in and break everything.. (Think- (The 40 Year Old Virgin movie with the scene of his house). I have been collecting for 38 years since I was 6. I can finally take all my BF cds out of boxes and stack them in 1 of my 14 IKEA 6 ft tall book cases..
Scheduled to start in a couple weeks. Needs a complete electrical overhaul as well and some concreting repair work in the foundations too..
![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif) Don't forget the sliding batpoles bro.

Saturday apparently marked two years since Russell Brand 'hit on me' at the theatre I volunteer at... Huh. 'Time really does fly. Despite accidentally waking up at about 11.30 (I didn't get to sleep until 3-), today has definitely been better than the past couple of days! 'Bit of Youtube, a three-odd hour walk around town listening to most of a radio serial and am now starting to watch the second series of 'Cardinal' (I marathoned the first yesterday). ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif)

Difficult times interspersed with a few bright moments, life’s been full of ups and downs the last few days. All I can say is a big thank you to my family for standing firmly by my side!

Just got terribly upset while browsing Facebook. I know, maybe I should just keep away from Facebook when I feel well and relaxed...
Some immigrant (has been living in Switzerland for 12 years now) lunatic has committed a horrific senseless murder in Germany and some people on my newsfeed were baying for blood. Hate speech central. I honestly have no time, nerve and patience for this male cattle poo anymore and I will just de-friend anyone who jumps on the bandwaggon. No matter how long we have been "friends" already. I am sick to my bones that every time some dark skinned lunatic commits a crime, there are screams for blood. While when a white lunatic does the same act, everyone is terribly surprised. Hate, anger and lunacy are on both sites, as we could see this year with the terrible crime in Christchurch. Now, everybody has already forgotten that one? I am sick of the fact that Facebook and the feed of my "friends" is the plaything of some Russian bots, who just laugh about us as we tear each other apart.
Rant over. Might go for a walk to cool down.

Hello again.
I have a very simple rule regarding social media. I avoid Twitter. I read the comments sections on the Guardian newspaper site and the BBC Have Your Say columns just to see the wide variety of toxic hatred that seems to have taken the place of reasoned debate today.
Finally, the only site I ever comment on is this one. Unfortunately, Tuigirl we now live in a world where the extremists are calling the shots, where reasonable discussion is rarely possible and anonymity online has bred a great deal of toxic hate-filled bile.
I hope you enjoyed or will enjoy that walk. Walking is the best exercise for a frazzled mind...

I hope you enjoyed or will enjoy that walk. Walking is the best exercise for a frazzled mind... Hey thanks. Yeah, walking is also the best medicine for me when I am upset or down. It was a nice warm evening and down in the park we have a cold water pool for walking in (there is a German thing called Kneipp, it is supposed to be good for circulation and stress relief among others). The park is my salvation, seriously the best thing about my new village. Very peaceful.
Yeah, this is also why I keep away from Twitter and the comment section on news or on youtube. And why I keep away from most other forums. I am very empathic and I am just a sponge for emotions (good and bad) and it is not good for my mood (same reason I got rid of TV a long time ago).
I am surprised with myself why I still get upset with this stuff anymore.
However, I have now de-friended the offending parties and can move on. I do not even dare to hope they might have learned something out of this (I left a pretty rude comment under their original post, juvenile, I know).

Hello again.
It sounds idyllic Tuigirl. We also have a cold water pool about half an hours walk away. It's called the sea! Take care and stay away from those unrepentant trolls!

Trying various meditation therapies to try block the negative thoughts from creeping into my mind.
Lot of stress with family at minute, then again that's the norm it seems nowadays.

Trying various meditation therapies to try block the negative thoughts from creeping into my mind. Lot of stress with family at minute, then again that's the norm it seems nowadays. I keep repeating myself and you most likely do not want to hear, but you need to get out of that toxic environment for your sanities sake for a while. Have you looked into retreat options and possibilities for someone to look after your folks? Again, you won’t be any good to your folks when you finally have a breakdown and it will be much much harder then a) to recover and b) to organize help. Your life is not going to change if you don’t dare a first step. Believe me, I have been there. I just keep worrying because I can see how you torture yourself. And no, going onto a retreat does not make you lazy, it is taking care of yourself and taking responsibility for the future. But I understand your way of thinking right now, been there, done that.

My friend told me they've booked tickets for Mindwarp screening at BFI. One of the few 6th Doctor adventures I enjoy. This will be fun.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

So the Pop-Up Globe (full-scale replica of the Globe theatre) is coming to Perth in October/ November. I saw it on facebook and instantly booked tickets for my wife and I to see A Midsummer Night's Dream (seated) and a ticket for myself to see Hamlet (groundling).

Faith in humanity restored: I went for my regular 500m swim today at the city public pool. Right before I entered, an older member of the community ran towards me (I did not hear her at first because I was listening to music and had my headphones in). She had a multiple swim card which expired tomorrow and gifted me the final swim on the card- and would neither take "no" or money for an answer. So I went swimming for free today. Yay. So yes, there are still good people in the world.
