There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

A little late to the party but I've discovered for the first time the "joy" (is that the right word?..🤔) of trying to extract a 2019 boxset from it's outer cardboard sleeve.
Who'd have thought something so simple would be as complex as attempting to open a Japanese puzzle box? Who'd have thought that in my desperate attempts to extract the Paternoster Gang volumes 1 and 2 from their respective cardboard tombs I'd end up looking like a demented Carmen Miranda shaking her maracas for all it's worth? (Keep it clean, people...). Who'd have thought I actually knew so many choice swear words and would end up being chastised by my own daughter for using them? And who'd have thought that after one hour...ONE WHOLE ******* HOUR...the most either boxset has budged is a quarter of an inch?
🤦♂️

And who'd have thought that after one hour...ONE WHOLE ******* HOUR...the most either boxset has budged is a quarter of an inch? 🤦♂️ Having had some practice in this field, my number one suggestion is not to shake them. I think every box set I've received for the last three or four months (probably longer) has had at least one disc loose in the case. You don't want to risk damaging it. My usual method for liberating the CDs from their cardboard prisons is by using a pin (like the ones you stick into pin boards, not the sewing kind; either would probably do though). Insert the pin into the "spine" of the cardboard by pushing it under the fold at the base or top of the spine, then lever it gently (so as not to tear the cardboard) to push against the case. Once you've done this to one end (top or base), put the pin in the other end and do the same thing. This should push the CD case far enough out of the cardboard for you to get enough grip to pull it free (and if you're lucky, simply moving it as far as the pin will allow will cause the case to come free straight away, though this is a rarity). It's also possible to lever in the opposite direction, "opening" the spine out and allowing you to push the case with you hand from either direction, though it's more likely to tear the cardboard (I've only managed to do this once - I was too worried I'd tear the cardboard every other time I've tried). Hope this makes sense/helps

Made: Late morning/early afternoon I decided what the heck, it's not like I can go anywhere or do anything, I'll day drink while watching a good movie. Not so much: When I woke up a few hours later dehydrated, with a headache and a gurgling gut

Needless to say they ain't going back in.. 🤦♂️

Not recommended lol

"If I can't have (more) then I'm going to go home, come back and go round again... AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME!!!"
Yes hometown, yes it is totally the cashier's fault there is a quantity limit on everything in-store at the moment, you caught us. It is for the betterment of everyone, Not. Just. You.
Take a deep breath in, grab a chill pill & calm the frick down! (Sighs) "Bloody vegans..."

Found out i may not actually be eligible for the UK Job Retention Scheme because of when i started my job. There's a sodding cut off point Not happy the furlough scheme is not as good as it appears. Our problem is we need some folk to work from home, but maybe only for a couple of hours a day. If they do that and we pay them pro rata they get 25%. If they go on furlough they get 80%. About 75% of our customers are in the hospitality sector, so the money coming in has greatly reduced. Paying staff full pay out of our own cash is not an option. So either: (1) Folk go on furlough but work illegally when they are not meant to (2) One person remains working and has to work their socks off covering everyone else's work in the department, while the others sit at home with their feet up getting 80% for doing nothing. Hardly fair on the one person. (3) We pay folk what we need them to do, which is less than 80%. That would (understandably) alienate all employees who would rather get the 80% and will poison employee relations when this is all over There isn't really a solution that is fair between employees and legal in terms of the rules of the furlough scheme.
