Farewell, Sarah Jane made my day. (And finally I'm crying about something other than this pandemic.)

Something rather special is soon to drop in a couple of days... I wonder what it could be? Ooo what’s that?

It's trying to make my day that I think I've probably had a particularly glorious week at my favorite hobby of ancient metrology. I have probably ascended to Nerdvana.
There's also something very special about when you go to support the work of kindred spirits no matter how misguided you fear they might be, how many more pieces of a puzzle can start to drop in your own lap.

Yesterday was my 27th and I had a pleasant enough time...
I had to work during the day, but we were fairly quiet so I can't complain too much (I did get given a card signed by everyone in my 'area'... & my crush, which was nice of them, especially as I didn't get one when I worked on my 22nd...).
In the evening I watched 'Bottle Rocket' with my mother, not that she really enjoyed it (my father watched some of it but decided to have a bath instead), followed up by the Russell T. Davies adaption of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", some Youtube and part one of 'The Time Warrior'

Today the DIY stores in Bavaria were allowed to open again. It was like the invasion of the mongols. I have never seen that many people in that store. But all was done according to health and safety, with queues before you were allowed in, and distance rules and only a certain number of people allowed in the store at any one time. Still, sooooo many people! But after 3 weeks of lock down, I think people were as starved as myself for some gardening and DIY-ing. Since I spend a lot of my home time on my fantastic balcony, I thought I could as well spend some money on an upgrade. I got a little herb garden (which fits perfectly into the corner!!), a cute new prickly pear cactus and finally a folding chair and table so I can have breakfast in style on my balcony. And enjoy the view. Pure bliss. It really is the little things, isn't it? And some fresh herbs will bring some much needed vitamins.

I'm currently watching The Globe's live-screening of 'Romeo & Juliet' (20minutes behind, I will admit, 'dinner called) &, whilst I am enjoying it, I think if it goes on for much longer I'll probably be drinking poison myself... =_=
I've been having a pleasant enough day today, 'marathoned the 'sequel' Star Wars trilogy (I think I enjoyed 'Skywalker' more this time, in context, than I did when I saw it at the cinema), saw my Grandmother in the home (technically helping one of the other residents when he had a fall outside*) and will be jumping in the bath imminently, once 'R&J' has finished...
* Due to the whole 'distance measures' currently on I couldn't help him up as I normally would, but quickly found one of the nurses who made quick enough work of it with a couple of other nurses & a 'lifting device'

Simon Barnard , paulmorris , Terry Molloy, David Benson and Lisa Bowerman totally made my entire lockdown, never mind made my day, by creating us a new (free!) 'Scarifyers'. Thank you all so much!
(And thanks very much to gregm for posting the news on here. I thought this thread would help make sure the widest possible audience spotted it, apologies for the double post.)

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.
