At work today a customer decided that it was ok to talk to me (about how he wanted me to look after his trolley, and the semi-bad day he'd had) in the doorway of the 'facilities' whilst I was in the middle of a, ahem, visit. 'Time and a place' m'dude, 'time and a place'... The list of "things of things I'm not going to question" genuinely gets longer by the day. Jesus Christ! (He sees me leave the cleaner's cupboard and go into the facilities and, opens the door as I get to the urinal) 'Excuse me, could I leave my trolley with you?' I, uh, pardon? (M'dude, I'm trying to pee here, why are you talking to me?) "Could I leave my trolley and BluRay player with you? Only the last time I was here I left it outside and someone walked off with it... I'd go to the disabled but it's closed and 'the girls' seem busy..." Yup, yup, ok, fine. Can you just give me a minute, 'coz, I'm kind-of in the middle of something... (Apparently I was too subtle, as -) "It's been a hard days as the morning I had the doctor's, and then the dentist, and now I just want to get home and set my BluRay player up..." (M'dude, I know you can't see me through the 'privacy screen', but I really can't go with you stood in the doorway trying to talk to me!!!!) "So, yeah, if you could look after it...?" (Dude, I have my, ahem, 'member', in my hand. I! AM TRYING! TO PEE! LEARN! SOME! BOUNDARIES! FOR ONCE! IN! YOUR! LIFE!) Maybe he wanted to talk to you at your convenience. Eeeeeeeeeeeew

So while we were at the sushi shop, my good mate who is from Liverpool but lives here, msgd me.. His best mate who still lives there happened to do some shopping at ASDA and saw 2 copies of "Max Warp" 8th Doctor vinyl. He messaged him, and I quote : "Look what I seen, do I purchase or do I leave the store empty handed". Round robin msgs back and forth within 1 minute. How awesome, my contact's contact was looking out for me without being asked. He will get a nice $$ tip when the next vinyls get released. Here he goes again Shanes importing our vinyls from English soil, HONK HONK!!!

Day not made : Automated telephone menus - I hate them with a passion..and by far Hermes has the absolute worst. Trying to track down a delivery three days overdue and the damn thing does everything it can to frustrate that - leads you into a cul de sac and abandons you there, cuts you off if you step off the right path and transforms an average person into a red faced ball of sweary rage.
And the worst part? Hermes website offers an obsolete email address and two telephone contact numbers...that both lead you back to the automated telephone menu...🤬
Day made : For months I've been trying to get a foothold into the Sapphire and Steel CDs without success (I still bulk at the mere thought of paying the exorbitant prices on the second hand market).
In the last few hours I've managed to bag three in quick succession...and at a reasonable price. 😊

Made: Only a small thing but I think I figured out a decent summary to submit for my current creative project that sounds intriguing but also doesn’t give anything away. Plot summaries have always been very difficult for me to come up with, but I think by keeping it as short as possible it actually helped!
I really hope that this script of mine gets selected and turns out the way I want🤞It’s such a unique opportunity for writers that it gives the winning writers a certain unusual amount of creative control in the production process! Of course if I did win and things go the way I want I don’t know how I would react to such an opportunity. Fingers crossed 🤞 And hopefully one day I will have good news to share😉
Sidenote: This not the Paul Spragg Opportunity I am referring to. I already submitted my entry for Paul Spragg, but fingers crossed for that too!🤞

www.facebook.com/BarossaMedievalFair/Tickets for the 2nd Medieval Fair went on $ale 9 mins ago.. 3 tickets purchased. Held at the Barossa Valley, the place where South Australia's world renowned wines are made. There is literally something in the soil up there that makes the wine turn awesome LOL.

Had an exciting trip to the ER for a family member who was exhibiting all signs of a heart attack. Got there, went through tests and determined that, despite the pain, nothing was wrong. Everyone went home at about 2am and then off into their own individual lives. To work, mainly. The world doesn't stop just because you've nearly died, after all.
What made my day -- glorious, wonderful gesture that it was -- my boss came in, I explained the situation and she asked me if I'd attended any of our workshops lately. I told her no, I hadn't really the time. She said that if I ever need something, anything at all, I just come and ask. That's... *whew* It meant a lot. Particularly at the moment because, good God...

THIS is why I try not to listen to the radio at work- the guy at the desk near me has it on the #1 rock station. So far today (it's 1:30pm now) :
Beatles, AC/DC, David Bowie, Queen, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Poison, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Offspring and Blink 182 .
I am an air guitarist/drummer- habit from my learning days back in the 80's before the arthritis kicked in and I had to give up the instruments.

Its 6:40pm. I got an email from Citibank, my credit card company.. Once again they somehow revert my contact/address details from.. 3 jobs and 20 years ago..
I had to check n wreck on the phone yet again.. Just spent 20 minutes literally spelling out every word.. "Shane.. S for Sam H for hello A for apple N for no E for elephant."
I have so many complaints/concerns registered against them- they breached my privacy.. I get all these apology emails and letters but it still continues OMG.

Only a small thing, but I think my creative project is almost ready for when they open up the submission window😊
I tweaked the ending a bit with something that I think will be very satisfying on many levels if my script gets chosen.
Also did some reworking of my plot synopsis after I got some helpful feedback from my writing group that it would be more intriguing and mysterious if I left out the character names in the synopsis . It’s a very short summary but I think it will catch whoever will be reading it’s attention.
I am very happy with this script! I really hope it gets chosen and as this opportunity gives the winning writers far more creative control on the production based on their script than many writers normally get, that they take my creative suggestions. 😉I think if it does get chosen I think the performers are going to have a lot of fun with it and I would be very curious how it gets interpreted😊 I definitely have had fun writing it! I have frequently laughed so hard I have cried and gotten very excited and emotional at certain moments writing it. Fingers crossed 🤞
Sidenote: This is not for the Paul Spragg opportunity, I already submitted my entry for that, but fingers crossed for that too and good luck to all who entered!🤞

Not made: Last night, a demented and psychically ill man, a former refugee (Somalia I think), committed a knife attack killing three people and wounding several people, 5 are still in hospital. This happened in my local region capital, half an hour drive from here. Just a scary and sobering reminder that these things can happen everywhere. Anytime. Even in rural regions like mine.
This again shows how VERY important it is to provide necessary psychiological support for refugees from civil war regions, many of them are deeply traumatised, suffer from PTSD and are hardly coping. Just stuff them into group housing without any perspectives for life is not going to do anything for them.

It's been quite a week. On Wed my youngest turned 18. How did I become the mother of 2 adults? I feel like I should have 2 babies at home. Nothing drove the fact home as much as I barely saw him. I worked a 12 hour shift and he was busy celebrating with friends all day. He didn't need me at all to make the day feel special.
The day after he graduated from high school. It was presented outside on the football field, and it was a beautiful night. It was a lovely ceremony and I'm so proud of him.
