Just found this online.. Not the usual cinema I go to. I will check the major cinema chain that is walking distance from my house. wallis.com.au/events/dr-who-classic-movie-double-bill/Synopsis : "DR. WHO AND THE DALEKS and DALEKS’ INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. Released initially in 1965 and 1966 and directed by Gordon Flemyng, these two films, shot in glorious Technicolor, have been regenerated in out-of-this-world 4K and are the perfect collector’s item for Doctor Who and sci-fi fans. The films, which are to date the only big-screen outings for the Doctor, also boast a beloved supporting cast including Bernard Cribbins, Roberta Tovey, Roy Castle and Jennie Linden. DR. WHO & THE DALEKS (1965) was the first big screen film adaptation of British TV’s most iconic sci-fi hero, and the first time Doctor Who was ever seen in colour. Having invented the TARDIS, a strange machine capable of travelling into other dimensions, the Doctor and his three young accomplices set forth on a quest through time and space. Their journey takes them into the dark, undiscovered depths of the universe and to the planet of Skaro, a primitive world devastated by nuclear war and populated by two warring species, a peaceful tribe known as Thals and a life form heavily mutated by radiation, encased in protective machines, a merciless force of destruction known as The Daleks! The second film, DALEKS’ INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D sees Cushing return to the big screen – the future of Planet Earth now belongs to The Daleks, but deep within the London Underground a group of resistance freedom fighters are planning an attack. Can The Doctor help them succeed in destroying their extra-terrestrial enemies and take back control of Earth?"

That sounds like a good night out to me! It's been a good 2-3 decades since I have seen them, I barely remember anything about them !!

Suddenly all those old laundry washing / drying tips that my mother passed on to me are becoming trendy again. Honestly, hearing a money-saving expert expound on the economy of letting your clothes etc. dry in the sunshine either outside or in a sunny room if you can instead of useing a tumble dryer nearly had me in hysterics. Don't forget to keep the buttons/zips fastened up and the garments turned inside out too, kiddies. In the washing machine it reduces snagging on the drainage holes in the drum and in sunshine it confines bleaching to the bits nobody gets to see. Anyone think of anything else your great-aunty might have been able to teach you but you were too modern to ask? How to use a dolly-tub and washboard maybe? No electricity involved there. Well, I have a pair of jeans with a hole worn in them and to save money I have given them to my Mum [my wife can't sew] and asked her to take the pocket off the back and use it to patch the hole. She hasn't done that for me since I was at primary school 25+ years ago but I thought, why waste money on a new pair of jeans if I don't have to?

You do know that holes in jeans are trendy, right? People buy 'new' jeans with frayed holes in them these days!!!

Besides, the location of this particular hole is not, shall we say, the ideal place for a hole

Listening to The English Way Of Death, I adore Tom Baker as the Doctor, his voice I find calms me.

In the new Spiderverse comic, they're debuting Spider-Rex. A literal T-Rex Spiderman.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Also… were there spiders in the age of dinosaurs? Well, there definitely were spiders in the age of dinosaurs. Actually, the largest spider to ever exist predates the dinosaurs. It hunted the largest insects to ever exist which dwarf anything we know today. But a T- Rex Spidersaur makes no sense whatsoever.

I officially have less than two weeks left at my job - next Friday will be my last day. I’m planning on taking a few months off to just rest and recuperate before I start looking for the next job, but even just having the end so plainly in sight is a bit of a relief.
Things have been changing at work admittedly. I’m part of a large amount of turnover actually - one of my coworkers is leaving the week after me and then another of my coworkers is leaving the week after that. Last week someone who was planning on leaving later this year had to quit immediately due to personal reasons and it was also the last week for another coworker that I didn’t really like as well. They also moved that coworker in the morning that’s been lackluster for me to fill the latter guy’s position - I think it’ll end up causing more problems in the long run and a lot of headaches, but at least his hours will be different so I won’t have to put up with him all day. Plus, I’m not going to be around much longer anyways, so I’ll just power through it as best I can.
It’s a bit scary deciding to do this, just taking a break, with how work culture and health care works in the U.S. but I just can’t stay where I’m at now any longer. Not just my job even - this state and this town too. I know once it’s all in the rear view window at the end of next week, I’ll start to feel better.
Anyways, that’s made my day.

Today, one of the team leaders of one of my teams at work decided I would be going to a exotic animal medicine conference in Birmingham in November. Never been to Birmingham (only have been to London so far). Actually, I am looking forward to it. I will have to help with our company representation in the foyer and spend my breaks answering questions concerning our lab tests on offer, but this will give me the opportunity to get to know my UK colleagues face to face and and to listen to some exciting talks in the sessions. So yeah, Crazy Bird Lady (one of my nicknames from my time in NZ) will be in da house and rocking it.
