Wow, I'm surprised how nearly universally loved this story is around here. I thought it was okay. It was ambitious and very well-directed, but it didn't hit the mark for me because the disparate elements (Gollum in the Upside Down, Killer Moths, the pretend Blair Witch) pulled it in too many different directions. It felt quirky for quirky's sake to me.

It just happens to be an episode that gave us something other than what I want out of Doctor Who. I didn't hate it, and I'm glad so many other fans enjoyed it so much.

I feel like that quite often, too, since my taste is sometimes at odds with other people's.
But I admit I loved this episode and for me it was the best of this series...

Mine too. In fact it is one of my favourite episodes of Doctor Who ever!
