That was WONDERFUL. As someone that's been a fan since the 80s, I've observed a lot of criticism from the perspective what the show "should" be. Clips like this are a fantastic reminder of what it can be. It's nice to see that even if the current characterization/direction/style of the show isn't clicking for some people (including long-time fans), the Doctor as a character can still resonate in a profound way with new audiences. I can't wait for the new season, especially being able to watch with my kids.
EDIT: I know it's a little off-topic, but thinking of keeping the show meaningful for new audiences, let's (re)watch Jodie, Mandip, Tosin, and Bradley being amazing for a young Doctor Who fan from last year's Children In Need:

"Jodie Whittaker is good as the doctor, let down by the writing. 2nd series of new doctor and new showrunner always better."
Gee, that's the most original statement I've ever read.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

The thing about a show with a history as long as Doctor Who is that you can always find an example to the contrary. Quite a lot of Doctors had a brilliant first series and an average second series (3, 4, 11) and I'm frankly really tired of the "let down by the writing" cliche. The writing was fine, as consistent per episode as any other modern series. Series 11 had more "very good" episodes than most series did and fewer duds. All it lacked - and YMMV here, I admit - was a standout episode on the level of Blink or Midnight or Vincent. I thought it superior to series' 6 and 7, though.

Here's a weird one.
The Talking Dead the aftershow programme for The Walking Dead (obviously) will be revealing some Doctor Who related news on it's next episode on the 24th. Now I know AMC are co-owners of BBC America but I doubt they're doing a crossover...

Now I know AMC are co-owners of BBC America but I doubt they're doing a crossover... Its Presenter (Chris Hardwick) regularly Hosts DW panels on the US Convention Circuit and runs the Nerdist Podcast so he's probably taking advantage of Talking Dead audience reach as well to convey it.
Side point this again shows that British Promotion for a British made show is woeful.

Why does it? That is a day after 23rd November which has been promoted by BBC as an important date for an update.
