I'm still confused about whether or not Skyfall Part 1 counts in the 10 episodes for the season or not. Has there been official word either way?

It's episode 1 of 10 eps of series 12, as different parts of a multi-parter are counted seperate episodes. Unless you mean something else - did you mean the 28 days ratings count for SF p1?

There was a report before the start of series that the two parts would count as one episode, so that there would actually be 11 instead of 10 but that seems to have been pure fantasy.

Excellent. I think we may see The Lone Cyberman in this episode.

Mary’s Story/The Silver Turk/The Witch from the Well/Army of Death right now...

Chibnall commenting on how they want to drop in historical figures in “unexpected ways” is... interesting, considering that the rumour is Cybermen for this episode and that’s about the most obvious route you can go with Mary Shelley.
Also, it’s interesting that we’ve already seen Byron’s daughter in this series already - I can only assume that’s going to be brought up in this episode.

Mary’s Story/The Silver Turk/The Witch from the Well/Army of Death right now... View Attachment It's set on " that night when Shelley was writing Frankenstein." So start justifying away Mary's Story, folks! A casualty of the Time War I'd say. The saddest bit is that we probably won't ever hear Julie Cox's Mary again.

Honestly, I feel like if BF wanted to use Mary Shelley again, they would’ve brought her back by now. I mean, it has been almost 10 years since Army of Death was released...

No plans, just imagine, etc. etc. It's set on " that night when Shelley was writing Frankenstein." So start justifying away Mary's Story, folks! A casualty of the Time War I'd say. The saddest bit is that we probably won't ever hear Julie Cox's Mary again. Doesn't "Mary's Story" flatly contradict the Doctor's earlier account in "Shada" as to how they met? In "Shada" he's with Chronotis, and I recall no Chronotises in "The Company of Friends" at all.

In Shada he just says that he and Chronotis spent a weekend with Mary and Percy at Lake Geneva, so it’s not necessarily how they first met.

Yeah i always saw it as at the end of Mary and 8's travels together

Julie Graham in it too. One of my top "she should be in Doctor Who..." actors. She's done some BF but nice she'll be on the box.
She was one of the highlights of the otherwise middling remake of Survivors on the BBC.
