Just a quick note about my December Subscriber Short Trips, Tuesday. I just wanted to apologise for the complete lack of Christmas in the story. I wrote it a long time ago and we writers get no control over when things appear. It does have Harry and the Eighth Doctor, so do give it a listen if you get the chance.
I look forward to comments!

Thanks - I hadn't realised you'd already heard it! I like the new cover, though it would be great if my name was there;-) I'd better rename this thread to allow for spoilers!

Ooh, any chance you could give us a peek? I haven't re-upped my 6-month sub yet. (Edit: not sure if that's kosher. No worries if not.)

First rate!! A Christmas story that's busier being a really good story than being a Christmas story is just what the doctor ordered actually. Also Harry and the Eight Doctor is awesome in the first place.

Tease! {Spoiler Comments} Thanks very much Tony, a really delightful 'feelgood' story as well as the mystery. A great central idea and so many 'gift' moments which had me smiling and nodding in recognition. My favourite of those was Harry feeling the old scar on his forehead and thinking: 'bagpipes?' I liked the almost two-part structure with the big scene shift at halftime, Harry using his medical skills to understand the alien pilot (I suppose it qualifies as a sailor of space so the Doctor's old joke still stands! ) and the twist with the Queen's 1957 message and the sunspots was very clever. And the Doctor effectively giving the gift of Christmas, it couldn't get more Christmassy than that! 5* of course, rounding off an exceptional year for the Sub STs imo and I hope they will be in the 'Rarities' collection in due course.

A really lovely story. I wouldn’t worry about it not feeling festive enough; you don’t get much more Christmassy than the Queen’s speech! Stephen Critchlow is a great reader too.
I love Harry - he’s my favourite companion - so any additional stories with him are good in my book. Ian Marter’s passing is still, to this day, terribly sad. You can just imagine him writing for the New Adventures, appearing in and writing for The Sarah Jane Adventures and Big Finish. Perhaps even penning a script for Doctor Who?

As the writer, when would you say this ST is set in the Eighth Doctor's life?

Not every Christmas story has to be 'Christmasy', and that's why Tuesday has proven to be such a wonderful and unique classic. A mixture of callbacks and celebrating to fulfil the festive season!
