Usually, it's for lunch, but I worked until around 7:45 so never got around to roasting a chicken I had my eye on. So a future lunch was converted to dinner. _____
I like to fry up the main part of wraps I eat in one big batch. I either cut up chicken or use ground beef.
This week: 2lbs Ground beef (80% fat), onions, mushrooms, green pepper, 5 ghost chilis fine-chopped*, spices (paprika, dark chili powder (ancho, etc), coriander, (usually also use cumin, ran out), cardamom, onion powder, garlic powder (if I have more time, I mash garlic and fry it with it), lemongrass powder, dash of MSG, and a tiny tiny bit of: galangal powder, cinnamon powder, allspice)). Sometimes add a bit more Carolina Reaper powder on top when I make the wrap.**
Then I just microwave the right amount, lay a wrap out, and fill it up with the non-cooked bits; I often enough throw in kidney, black, or pink beans with the meat before microwaving.
The wraps themselves vary, but there's usually some mixture of:
- red leaf lettuce (I'm going to try adding the tasteless iceberg for crunch) - sharp cheddar, orange - grated parmesan - chopped uncooked tomato - mayo - dijon mustard - dijon with whole seed
Then the microwaved meat/veg mixture is poured on top and immediately wrapped, thereby melting the cheese.
It's sort of a sloppy joe/burrito/thing with a vaguely/partially Indian spice pattern.
___________ * Because I've been nuking my digestive tract since sixth grade or thereabouts. Also, my wife can't eat it. I do cook most dinners, so, it's only fair that she cannot consume my lunches without writhing in pepper-hell-agony.
** Because **** my digestive tract, that's why.

Ground up some chicken, added salt, pepper, spicy brown mustard & soft herbs and formed them into patties, which were then cooked in the skillet. Added butter & mushrooms for a rather simple & outstanding meal.

Tea with some belgian chocolate florentines. Don't normally keep biscuity things in the house but these were a gift.

Gluten free pizza from my favourite cafe/takeaway in London. Makes the business trips something to look forward to.

Burt's British Hand Cooked Potato Chips in Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar flavor.
My spouse brought them back for me from his business trip, as he changed planes in Heathrow. He thought I'd like that flavor, which I did.
Though if they're British potato chips, shouldn't they be called crisps?
He also brought me individually wrapped Walkers shortbread, which I love. Though I love the stem ginger variety the best.

Yes they should! there is an annoying trend to try to rebrand with American terms......(sorry guys but it's wrong) when did secondary education become high school!

Well when I ordered the fish and chips, the lady asked me if I wanted Fries! I said aren't those the chips? They're usually called chips just in that context...and we are in New England

I've always seen them called fish and chips anywhere in the US that they've been on the menu. It's a thing.

I made Spiced Cod with Squash Cakes. It was delicious. The fish was good, but the zucchini cakes were outstanding!

I had leftover almond milk in the fridge, which my daughter-in-law was drinking the last time she visited.
I figured I should use it up, so instead of putting milk in my coffee, I mixed it with just a little almond milk. The ratio I used was 1/4 cup of almond milk to 3/4 cup cow's milk. And even with that small amount of almond milk, I don't much care for the taste.
So I won't be trying that experiment again.
Maybe I should just dump the rest of the almond milk down the drain...
