A nice cup of coffee. And Walker's shortbread, plain variety. I really like the stem ginger variety, but it's almost impossible to find.

I ground up some chicken, rendered off some bacon and grated some cheddar cheese, mixed them all together into patties and threw them on the grill. They were, in a word, fantastic.

A quick saute of catfish & shrimp with butter, hot sauce and bacon. Besides the prep time to peel & clean the shrimp, the dish took about 5 minutes to cook.

And after the icecream, a helping of Kulfi which is again a frozen desert. My problem- I have a sweet tooth So what's the difference between ice cream and kulfi? In many Indian restaurants in the US that I've gone to, kulfi is described as a type of ice cream. Although, come to think of it, one of the Indian restaurants that I used to go to had actual ice cream that wasn't called kulfi - it was the place that many of the Indians living in our community frequented, and they had some interesting flavors, like saffron ice cream.

As a side tangent, the place I work out currently has a really creative pastry chef. My favorite thing is her burnt semolina gelato. Vanilla base with burnt semolina bread folded into it. It is sublime and one of the best ice cream/gelato flavors I've ever had.

Kulfi is very similar to ice cream but much heavier and creamier . It has milk as well as condensed milk and higher in calories which is why we usually avoid it Traditional flavours are plain milk with cardomom, saffron and mango- we used to binge on these 3 classic flavours in my school days in the 90s. Now they’ve ofcourse diversified to include other flavours as well but I still prefer the traditional ones.

I love kulfi, calories or no, and I don't get it very often.

They make the best kulfi, better than the ones I’ve tasted in high profile restaurants.
