One thing that's fascinated me is just what happens when you take a passage of text, even just a line, and churn it through Google Translate roulette. I've participated in some lyric translation crowd sourcing, and had a lot of fun mangling the phrases (Halloween turned into Arizona for some reason). However the material I regularly consume for this doesn't update often enough, and I've decided to do something about it.
Hence my new blog. Premise is simple, I'll run lines of text, many different kinds of things really, through Google Translate and see what comes out. Then I'll publish the (lost in) translations for people to see. I'm looking at uploading new content each week Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday my local time, with the first upload coming coming in the 1st of January 2019. Well done if you understand the reference in the blog title.
