This is Jason's Mum, Helen. Thank you so much for all the wonderful things that have been posted here. I am very moved and grateful for all your comments. I am going to make a book of Jason's life using a selection of mainly family photographs and with comments and anecdotes from as many people as I can squeeze in. So I am particularly grateful for the reposting of Jason's January 2013 piece about himself and especially what he had to say about the death of his sister which is something, as his mother, I had hardly heard him refer to. I would also like to use, anonymously, some of extracts from comments your contributors have made. I hope this is acceptable to you all.
I am making the book so that it can be seen in time for what would have been Jason's 50th birthday on April 13th 2019 when we will be holding a celebration, in Sheffield, UK, of his life. Anyone who knew Jason is very welcome to attend. I will also make the book available on line. As yet, I'm not certain in what format, but if you can hold Jason's Memorial page open until then, I will let you know. Please be patient with me technically, my skills are limited.
You may also like to know that Jason will be cremated on Thursday 31st January at around 11:25am GMT. The following words will be read from the first Dr. Who "One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxiety. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken”
and, as his coffin disappears, we will play a short extract of the Dr. Who theme tune followed by the Tardis sound.
Thank you again for your wonderful and heartwarming comments. As his mother, I knew my son, but understanding him as a man is the one positive thing that I am learning from his death. Thank you.
