I liked the fact that her arrogant/plucky recklessness was the cause of her death. I didn't like how they drew the scene out quite so long, though.
I think Capaldi is simply excellent at portraying anger/desparation. (Contrast, the way he appeared when pretending to be angry/desparate while bull****ing Davros in the first Ep). The only problem is this: I think we need to see the Doctor do something extreme and out of character in his anger. Otherwise, a portrayal of anger is simultaneously convincing but untroubling. He saved Ashildir because he was "emotional" and "wasn't thinking", according to his own dialogue. He needs to do something out of anger to make his anger be legitimately ominous.
There wasn't really all that much to the plot, though. The main points being to get the teleport band on the Doctor and get rid of Clara, with the minor point of checking in with Ashildir to alter their relationship. (Contrast Utopia, which spent a lot of time on the humanity's last hope business and only getting to the master reveal at the end.)

I enjoyed parts of it and didn't enjoy other bits. Also was annoyed by the appearance of the Ood and Juddoon on the street. With the Ood, there planet hasn't been discovered yet. And the Cyberman the Ood was repairing was designed as either N.i.S. or Missy's Cybermen and if that's the case it has to be the CyberBrig. Liked the appearance of the unmasked Ice Warrior and saying that the guy who ran was a Cyberman and so was his wife, maybe there were survivors of Attack of the Cybermen

I suspect that Clara isn't "dead"! She will (unfortunately) return! Theory: The Nether-sphere! Clara's in it. She lives there with Danny, they have a son, and release him into the wild. All plot-holes and Orson Pinks accounted for.

I suspect that Clara isn't "dead"! She will (unfortunately) return! Having it turn out that Clara is alive would probably ruin Face the Raven, but more Clara certainly wouldn't be a bad thing. I suspect we'll just see a splinter or an illusion or something of her in the finale, but that will be the last we see of her (except maybe in a multi-Doctor special or something in the future) and she will stay dead.

It really seemed that the writers cheated with Clara's death. It was so stupid and pointless. She died because she thought she had all the required information and didn't. Given the zero tolerance justice of the community, it would seem that Me should go next for deceiving the whole community about the non-murder in the first place.
Meanwhile, there are loads of stories directly referred to in episodes and implied as well that we never saw. There is plenty of room for Big Finish audios at some point in the future.

I don't know if it was a cheat, exactly, But it did seem like a pointless death.
Interesting point about Me going next.
I kind of wish there hadn't been so many spoilers floating around the web about Clara dying in advance of the episode. It kind of spoiled the suspense for me and it was almost impossible to avoid them unless I didn't use the internet at all.

Anyone here listen to the subscriber special short trip from 2014 "A Home From Home" by Nick Wallace (3rd Doctor, Liz, read by Stephen Critchlow) comes with Doctor Who - The Rani Elite?

But it did seem like a pointless death. Clara's keen willingness to have the Chronolock transferred to her from Rigsy as well as her decision to keep it a secret from the Doctor did seem to me to be unnaturally plot line manufactured for the sake of providing some "on the fly" impact. Because of her ultimately pointless demise that was demonstrated within Face the Raven, I find myself strangely compelled for wanting Clara to survive her latest scrape with death. This is a turnabout from what I would normally want, since I've been longing for more realistic consequences when it comes to the show's mortal characters.

My theory... I've not seen ep 12. Yet... Is that... Waitress Clara is the last... Shard Clara and only exist to save the doctor...
She saves him. By. NOT dying

Wow... Hopefully we haven't seen the last of Clara, because I really wonder now if Ashildur is going to make any kind of companion after that, and I am sensing some sort of pattern of younger female companions...
Really hoping that Clara just gives up TARDIS travel because Danny Pink proposes, or something like that.
