Another Man's Shoes by Tim Foley.
I am always honest in my tiny reviews, because otherwise what's the point? Suffice it to say I really didn't enjoy this at all, but anyone who read my previous post regarding the Norton Folgate character probably wouldn't expect me to! It isn't a badly written or played story, because other people have clearly had fun with it, but it isn't the kind of thing I personally can find enjoyment in, so I'll leave it at that.
For a television show that mostly didn't really grab me, I suppose it is inevitable that an audio continuation of that show won't always be to my tastes, and this is the case here; having said that, I've found the vast majority of BF's Torchwood (including the story previous to this) truly excellent, so I'm happy with that, and I'm sure I'll find Eye of the Storm by David Llewellyn, which closes this set, more my cup of tea.

Big Finish does it again with another great Torchwood set! I swear I am confused at the end of each one as to what I, as a listener, am supposed to understand has happened. I guess that just keeps me on edge for the next set.
I really need the next box set stat.

Slowly working my way through the set. Another Man's Shoes is indeed some heavy mood whiplash heh. I also note that Andy refers to some of the events of Aliens Among Us as "last year". That, combined with the previous episode's rather lengthy span of time it covered, tells me we've got quite a bit of gap there for the 2k17/18 Torchwood team to show up in various random monthly range adventures :3
Inside all that delicious body swapping comedy though, there's some furthering of the plot. We pick up on strands from previous episode, Hostile Environment, but also from Forgotten Lives, Ghost Mission, and others, all while God continues to bubble away in the background, having her little chats with people.
As others have said, the actors have a really good handle on their costars, and managed to play off as being in each other's bodies incredibly well. An entertaining episode, with some serious undertones.
Good stuff.

The finale of the set certainly ramps it up several notches. BIG THINGS HAPPENING. I like how this set has reminded us that Aliens Among Us happened, and hasn't been forgotten, first with Hostile Environment being fallout from Zero Hour, and Andy is dealing with the fallout of The Empty Hand in Another Man's Shoes, and now this one is dealing with leftover Sorvix tech that's been abandoned. All while intertwining the now apparently loooong-running Committee plotline, and the visits from God. Plus, submarines! Abandoned power stations in the middle of the ocean! Betrayals! Character building! And saving the bloody world! Maybe??? Overall this has been a brilliant set, and good lord they're going to make us wait how long to get the conclusion of the season??? I do hope Orr and Norton appear again in June, and I'll be interested in hearing how the team gets out of this mess they've gotten themselves into this time.

Eye of the Storm.
Aha! Some very nice revelations in a story that springboards BF's Torchwood back up into the Premier League! There are some terrifically sardonic lines (especially Colchester's description of Folgate as 'tits and teeth', and Yvonne's pithy remarks about UNIT [is this the first time UNIT has been mentioned in Torchwood?]), that go against the awfulness of 'sweetcheeks' Folgate's attempts to turn things into an excruciating pantomime. Terrific too to have David Warner on board once again, and in what promises to become a pivotal role.
I'm glad to have a reason to legitimately dislike Norton, regardless of my strong dislike of the OTT caricature I feel he's always been. This is the most interesting thing that could have been done with him, and it's a relief the John Inman-isms are toned down once his true motives are revealed. A conversation with the mighty Colchester puts him very much in his place. As a ratty turncoat I can accept him, his 'final' lines (who am I kidding? He'll be back, I'm sure) are actually wonderfully ironic. I hope we don't have to see him redeemed as some misunderstood hero or something. But time will tell. As a listener, I'm reminded I'm in expert hands.
I'm so glad to have this development. With the dramatic revelations and suggestions, and a ruddy great cliffhanger, I'm glad that Torchwood is still essential listening.

{Spoiler}so it would appear that we can backdate The Committee's influence into the later bit of Aliens Among Us as well, via Yvonne. I do hope we get some monthlies or perhaps an episode in part three of God Among Us that expounds more on what she's been doing the past decade, and how she's been helping The Committee "secretly rule over Torchwood" from the shadows...

For me, the acid test is asking “Do I want to listen to Part 3 right now?”
And yes, of course I do!
Great to see some long term continuity coming in btw. I’m wondering now who is going to make it into the series after this!

There's apparently a miss-print on the CD Cover so BF have added a printable PDF Version available in a Bonus Content Box in Accounts

Finished the set last night. Very good. My one disappointment was there was barely any mention of Orr. Ng finally asks her God about Orr, but doesn't get much of a response. No one else seems to notice.
I'm sure when Norton was accusing Jack of being the one trapping him on Flight 405, most of us were saying to ourselves that his upcoming actions are going to be the cause. And so it happened. There is some strange Timey-Wimeyness going on, but we'll see if there is anything more to it.
With the return of The Committee I am wondering whether there is anything I am not remembering from The Torchwood Archive.

Are we continuing to think of Cardiff Unknown as being between S5 and S6, as was released? Or are we shifting its placement into its spot in this boxset?

Are we continuing to think of Cardiff Unknown as being between S5 and S6, as was released? Or are we shifting its placement into its spot in this boxset? Its a couple of weeks after Herald of the Dawn, and a interview with Brent Hayden appears in it, so it’s more between Series 5 and 6 at the earliest and before The Man Who Destroyed Torchwood at the latest.

I really enjoyed this box set. I love Norton, so I like anything with him in it, he's hoot. And his motives are always so suspect.
Hostile Environment was a chilling story of the powerlessness of the homeless and what could go wrong with a well-meaning app. I really felt for Tyler as he came to realize how invisible he actually was except to the one thing he wanted to hide from.
Another Man's Shoes was an interesting take on how it might feel to live in another's body for a day.
Eye of the Storm was an exciting conclusion to the set and makes me wonder if Norton is in a repeating time loop now.
Unanswered questions: how and why are certain "dead" people back (specifically Yvonne Harman and Colchester)? What's God trying to do? What's The Committee trying to do?
Enjoyed this set overall.

She crossed over during the events of Army of Ghosts/ Doomsday and was hiding out on our Earth ever since The rest of your questions may or may not be answered in God Among Us 3 (I wouldn't want to spoil anything ).
