Does anyone else find that downloads from the site are taking a lot longer than they should? On the old site it would take me less than 5 minutes to download a box set - since the update it is taking over a half hour. I tested at work where downloads were even quicker and close to 20 minutes.
I'm having flashbacks to the days of a 56k modem.

I’ve been getting faster downloads if anything, boxsets being 2 minutes or so. But that could be just me being an outlier.

Well it’s been a bit now since the revamp and I have to say I am far from impressed ....... The site is almost unusable on my phone, it’s next to impossible to find the news on there, and it’s just scrolly scrolly scrolly...... It’s ok on my iPad, but is a pain waiting for next items to load, and it takes a lot longer to load up.....it takes about 20 seconds to load on phone now where before it was a couple of seconds...... Instead of increasing my visits to the site, I canna be arsed with it now....... Bad move, bad design, less useable........ And with this move to announcing on social media for new stuff.......and making it feel like us who don’t do social media customers feel second best....... There’s not even the Twitter links any longer...... I’m thinking it might be the end of my undying loyalty I will see the twenty years out, the crappy way they been dealing with policy changes, crappy pod cast, perminant hiatus for some titles without proper explanation, Are all just adding up........ anyone else beginning to feel the same Uhm... I am also not too happy with the new website, I agree it is a bit of a pain to use on anything but my laptop. That aside- yes, at the beginning when the new policy change was announced, I was very disappointed on how it was handled. And I agree that past podcasts left a bit to be desired.
However- they managed an amazing come-back at least in my eyes on how they dealt with the backlash for that prizing change. They reacted very decently and stopped trying to hide it under the carpet and I also really enjoyed how Jason owned up to it in the last podcast. I think that was very well done and has nearly restored my belief in the company.
I also do not care about the social media stuff... yeah, I am on Facebook and commented on some of their news, but this forum stays my number one stop for info.
Plus- in the last week, I had some REAL issues with ordering from the new website and it was a real pain in the neck. There were Paypal issues and some of us internationals were charged the new conversion rate (as opposed to the waiving of the 1:1) right away. I had several emails going back and forth between them and me. And what can I say- they did a great job, immediate customer service, very polite conversation and I got my money back no worries whatsoever.
Yeah, it was a bit of a hassle, but they did a great job getting it sorted ASAP.
So, to answer your question, no, I do not feel my loyalty is weaning... it took a hit, certainly, but they really did a good job in getting most of it back.

It is your money, your patience and your time. I honestly don't get the need to find out if anyone else feels the same way as you do. Clearly if you've read this thread and the policy change thread, you know there are several of us who aren't completely happy. So do we really need to rehash what has been discussed a lot over the past several weeks and surely other people staying or going doesn't impact your feelings on this, right? Why bother responding? If you “don't get the need to find out if anyone else feels the same way as you do” but you entitled to post your thoughts as am I....... but this post was about the website changes, and the way they want to chase new custom at the expense of us old buggers who have been with them from the start......... i dont want to rehash anything, just wondered if others were getting frustrated with the new site

And when you say things like this, and the way they want to chase new custom at the expense of us old buggers who have been with them from the start........., you aren't really looking for other opinions because you've already decided. No they don't want to chase everyone, or indeed, anyone away. Not old timers or new customers. It is a new web site and I know by reading this thread pretty much how everyone felt about it when it debuted, and as changes have been made, how people currently feel about it. But whatever.
Still, the first part of what I wrote stands, and it isn't something I write with any malice or ill will. If all you are feeling towards Big Finish is negativity, stop. Walk away. It's what I do when I cease to derive pleasure from something. I just go and try not to make much of a fuss about it as I'm leaving. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled day.

Glad I’m predicable if nothing else....hehehe i cannot walk away, I got everything on pre order......lol But seriously, big finish product is still awesome, it’s just the rest they are so bad at and never seem to learn, and after twenty odd years of cutting them some slack, it begins to wear a bit thin. but after all this the website is still rubbish on my phone, and the app needed an upgrade not the site..... but my motto is never go quietly when theres here’s a song and dance to be had.......hehehe stay safe dude.

I wouldn't expect a front-end update to have any impact on transfer speed, but I've actually found downloads to be slightly quicker since the site change. Not enormously so by any stretch of the imagination, more that we've moved from 'agonizingly slow' to 'okay, this is how it probably should have been working the whole time.'

Not being someone who has actually bothered to log download times, I will say downloads since the roll-out have seemed to be a littler zippier for me as well.

LOL I am someone who sometimes bothers to check DL speeds!
Download of 'Ravenous 3' (my first since the change) ran at ~10 Mbits/sec as usual (my broadband's current top speed.) I wouldn't have thought that changing the website front end would have any effect on the DL servers?? And changing both at the same time really would have been 'courageous'

For those on FB, please tell BF that our eyes are more than capable of looking at multiple releases on a phone screen, and only seeing 1 large image is a bit naff and doesn't really encourage us to explore elsewhere on the page and site.

As I look at the sale page, the green You've Got This icon now appears, so it would seem that piece of feedback was acted upon.

The "You've got this" icons are showing up in What's New. That is fantastic!

What, do you mean seeing what you've successfully pre-ordered already encourages to think you can manage future pre-orders? If that's what you mean, yes - or at least with as many of this year's offerings that I managed to pre-order. I might not be quite as encouraged if there weren't any showing as purchased. :-)

I have pointed out to BF twice now on Twitter that whenever you log in you get redirected to an error page, and that ticking the "remember me" box doesn't work. No response or action taken - this isn't just happening to me, is it?
