SST#40 will be Still Life, a Third Doctor and Jo Grant story, attached to MR252 An Alien Werewolf in London as bonus content.
It's read by Stephen Critchlow, scored by Rob Harvey, and written by me!
Very much looking forward to comments once it's out.

I just finished with this Short Trip. I just wanted to say- this was wonderful. Thank you for this story, I enjoyed it very much and it even brought a little tear to my eye. This is a beautiful emotional piece and exactly what I have been waiting for a while now. Yes, of course we all like all the big flashy releases and especially in the anniversary year, everything appears to be bigger, shinier and with an even bigger famous cast. What I have been missing were the quiet, emotional stories. And guess what, they can have just the same impact as a lot of explosions. I wish they would, just on occasion, do some quiet emotional character stories with Doctor Who again, something where we learn more about the characters and where there is no end of the world looming. This was like a breath of fresh air. I hope you get to write and share some more.

That was absolutely beautiful, I spent the last 10 minutes trying not to cry. Thank you Max and Stephen.

Max Kashevsky , how dare you break my heart like that?! Someone upthread mentioned trying no to cry, I flat out failed at that. This was really, really beautiful, and I'm not just saying that because I know you're the author. Any word of praise this receives is completely deserved. If you'll excuse me, I think I need a minute or two to myself now... EDIT: Also, a huge shout-out to whoever the composer was for this story (I can't find the information anywhere). That melody was extremely moving.

Wow. That was breathtaking! They need to put this in the Rarities now so everyone can hear it and be absolutely devastated by it.
I haven't heard all of the SST "runners up" but between this, Landbound and Taken for Granted, 2017 sure was a strong year for entries!
