I dont trust any of them. but Javid is the only one id want to win He'd be high on my list of 'possibles' too ( if we had a vote in this!) I like him from interviews I've seen and what I've heard him saying as Home Secretary. But I think this is a single-issue selection process and he's presumably not 'Brexity' enough for the Tory members. Nor are any of the other candidates I might like! Confession time, folks, I am a member and I will get a vote on the final 2.
( ... ducks the inevitable onslaught ... )

What a selection, I almost miss May.
I think Stewart would probably be the only one that could convince me to vote conservative, but let’s face it he’ll be lucky to get beyond round 1.

Hmmm...should we start lighting the torches and brandishing the pitchforks now or later? 😉 I only joined last year after I read in the press that ex-UKIP members were joining to try and infiltrate the party. momentum taking over the Labour party was in danger of destroying one of the 2 main parties and I didn't want the same thing to happen to the Tories so I thought I would do my civic duty and join and use my vote to oppose the ex-UKIPpers' takeover.
At this point I am likely to vote for the ABB (Anyone But Boris) candidate but possibly, just possibly, depending on how things play out in the campaign, if it was Boris vs. McVey/Leadsom/Raab I might hold my nose and go for Boris. But I really can't stand him so I don't know. McVey and Raab are the real extremists, Boris is just an opportunist who doesn't really believe in anything buy himself, so there's at least a remote possibility he might pivot to the centre ground if elected. Leadsom is another hard brexiteer so I wouldn't vote for her, but even aside form that I have never been able to take to her as she comes across to me as a bit of a snooty cow.
Gove is not a no-dealer like the previous 4 but he is too slippery and slimy for my taste. The other 5 are OK more or less. Hunt is probably the most Prime Ministerial and the most credible, but Rory Stewart seems to come the closest of any of them to any kind of star quality and his suggestion of a Citizens Assembly could maybe lead to a 2nd referendum by the back door, so that is a plus. Mark Harper came across today as the most willing to give straight honest answers. The other 2, Hancock and Javid, are OK but not really setting the world on fire and don't really do anything much for me.
So that's my view on the 10 candidates.
IMHO the one Tory who has emerged with real credit from the whole Brexit fiasco is Dominic Grieve, for whom I have a lot of time, but he is not standing and he'll be lucky not to be deselected the way things seem to be going in is constituency.

Cads, bounders and lowlifes all. You think they're all a bit over-qualified to lead a government?

You're Listening to the British Government. We Love Stories Or even ... we love Tories?
No, I'm not sure even Nick's imagination could come out with some of the fiction spouted out by our politicians.

Hello again.
I have news and it's not good... It's Boris 114 votes, Hunt 43,Gove 37, Raab 27,Javid 23,Hancock 20,Stewart 19.
Everyone else out. Seven candidates move on. May the odds be ever in your favour. Battle Royale round next Tuesday.

The hard brexit / ERG candidates (Johnson/Leadsom/Raab/McVey got a combined total of 161
The other 6 softer brexit candidates got 152.
Some on the left are supporting Johnston so overall the party is probabaly roughly 50:50 split between hard and soft brexiteers.

With numbers like that, it’s pretty much certain Johnson will make it to the final two. The fight is now for second place.

Not sure how British politics has reached the point where Rory Stewart of all people might trigger a second civil war but here we are apparently.
