So it just Doctor & Daleks? I would want some of the other characters, Jago & Litefoot for example. I’d pay a bit more than the RRP for an action figure of Frobisher. Being a shape shifting Whifferdill...I guess we can say any action figure is Frobisher impersonating whoever and whatever we want! |

It’ll literally just be rereleases and repaints of old Figures, with some room for perhaps a tweak or two in some places. Like with last year’s sets they managed to put a Brigadier head on a RAF Jack body to make a Season 7 Brig and made a new shirt for a Third Doctor Figure with a Fourth Doctor head to make a Talons figure. I wouldn’t expect much more than something like that.

That wasn’t by any means a “this isn’t anything exciting or this isn’t that great comment”, I was clarifying that people shouldn’t get hopes up and think that we’ll be getting something like a Constance Clarke figure or a stained glass Dalek because things like that just aren’t possible. I didn’t mean to seem like I was downplaying the news. Like I never had my hopes so high as them doing BF figures. |

Kenny did ask "what are you hoping for?" which does invite a bit of fun in playing the classic "Just imagine.." BF game! no-ones gonna be upset when we don't get the stained glass Dalek but isn't it nice to at least have the chance to speculate on these things and live in hope rather than a downbeat cautiousness? I mean...my Real Time figure is just a repaint of the standard Sixth Doctor figure...doesn't make it any less cool. |

Nope. Was planned. Really it seems quiet I only know because I monitor the main social platforms for any BF mention I can find its still not on any official Accounts or Posts 
PS I did say I'd refrain from Posting on the thread but I'm finding this product choice and marketing strategy fascinating the more I find out about it.

Yeah, I find it odd that BF hype up a big announcement and then don’t post about it on their site. Assumably, the Valeyard return and the BF figures were the big announcements that they were hyping up last week, so it’s strange that we only learned about these figures from other parties and not BF themselves.

I’m guessing that they’re saving the announcement for BF day. The announcement from Character Options themselves was very much a last minute type thing because people were going crazy about lack of info.

Really it seems quiet I only know because I monitor the main social platforms for any BF mention I can find its still not on any official Accounts or Posts The news was broken by The Doctor Who Site, which in terms of merchandise is as official as it gets without being a BBC Studios website. It's like when they give the exclusive of some of the covers to Doctor Who News or Doctor Who Watch this morning. It's true, there hasn't been an update on the BF website, but then it's not going to be sold on there, so I don't think it's really necessary. Maybe when they actually reveal the sets there can be publications on social media, but I think that's all we're gonna get from BF's side. It's not unlike any other action figure announcement in the past. They announce them first and then a few weeks later we get the pics. |

I would imagine the War Doctor set will be the Scientist Dalek from A Thing of Guile. It’s a normal Time War Dalek with metallic blue elements. The Time Strategist would be great, but it would require new tooling for the neck section. I’d be happy with a simple repaint but I’m not sure if it’s worth the hassle. Perhaps with a younger War Doctor - brown hair instead of grey - but a general re-release of either variant would suffice; it’s a sought after figure.
