So happy that it's the Dark Eyes Eight, a repaint of the NotD one would've been underwhelming. (Even if it's just a repaint of a 9th Doctor, I don't blame them for not doing a new mold from scratch.)

It's a lovely looking set. I am surprised they went with a repaint of the Ninth Doctor, as in my head I thought it would look more like a custom job, but it looks great here. The packaging is very distinct. The "limited edition" sticker is presumably one that is being listed on the Big Finish site. It'll be interesting to see the differences between that and the general B&M release.
I did notice that they've put the Night of the Doctor head on the body, rather than the Dark Eyes inspired sculpt that came with the War Doctor. I am guessing that's due to the compatibility; NOTD head was a "plug" and DE was a "peg".

The only thing I would've changed is the vneck, but I guess it would have been a nightmare and not much easier than a new sculpt altogether.

It turns out the “limited edition” sticker is on the B&M sets and was requested by them; I guess it’s an extra selling point. Big Finish will stock 150 units of each set with slight paint variants.
The way the Dark Eyes variant has been done really opens up the possibility of getting a TV Movie Seventh Doctor and a younger War Doctor.

I’ll mention this again when the figures are actually in-store, but if there’s anyone overseas after the sets then I’ll do my best to pick them up for you. I’m fortunate to have two B&M’s close by.

I just wish Big Finish had these to order on their website for international buyers.

If the Dalek in the War Doctor set is the Scientist from A Thing of Guile, then a couple of those flanking the Interrogator Prime would look brilliant.
I’d be happy with the Time Strategist too, though. I think that seems like it could be a likely candidate given the liberties taken to create the Dark Eyes Doctor and still making it look great!

The collar! That's what looks off! Eight usually wears his collar upturned.

I love it - an easy buy for me. Kenny was 100% right, something for BF fans to really get behind. The Dark Eyes McGann is "ours". TV only fans will know the Wild Bill Hickock and the Night Of The Doctor looks but Dark Eyes is something for us. I'll need to see if there's a Toby Jones figure from his Marvel movies and see if I can make him into a custom Kotris/Straxus, the real Dark Eyes enemy!

The Doctor actually turns his collar down during stories. Listen carefully and you can hear it.
