Glad the set arrived safely and quickly, tuigirl. The figures look great!

Anyone still looking for the non-BF latest wave of B&M releases? I have seen this week that my local stores have reduced them all to £12.99 to clear. All variants bar the War Doctor and Eighth Doctor sets seem not to have shifted round my way (both McCoy releases were reduced too). I even saw today, 12 copies of the Harry Sullivan and 2 Sontarans set at this price in one store today. Even the Androzani & Shada Tardis sets were overstocked. Decided against getting any as there is a tipping point when they just become clutter, as opposed to a curio feature on the DVD shelf (i'm not a collector of these myself, just an occasional impulse buyer).

I'm tickled by the humorous (and fictitious) variant sets that fan Andydrewz has created promo images for:
- "Showrunners" with RTD, Moffat, and Chibnall
- "Crap Monsters" with Taran wood beast, Varga, and Scribble monster
- "Invisible Aliens" with Visian, Refusian, Wester the Spiridon
But what I really want from B & M is a Jago and Litefoot set with Victorian Leela. This would complement the set already released with Magnus Greel, Mister Sin, and Fourth Doctor in his Sherlock outfit.

Oh, I'm very tired. I just read the thread title as "Brexit-The Action Figures".

A wee bit of an explanation about the origins of how the figures came about is coming soon to the Power of Three podcast!

There's a bit in this podcast about the genesis of the figures here. I was the middle man who linked up Character Options and Big Finish, then helped pick the figures and Daleks for the sets. m.soundcloud.com/powerof3pod/episode-13

On the one hand, this is all very cool. On the other, man are the prices steep.

I’m normally defensive of Character Options, but it’s frustrating that they’ve only now accurately done the War Doctor set as part of a re-release to meet demand. The Dalek now has the tinge of blue and the Doctor has a burgundy waistcoat. Fair enough the latter is an artist interpretation, but it’s always struck me as an obvious variant they should’ve done the first time around: swapping the colours of his scarf and waistcoat. And a few said as such when it was first announced.
All three sets are lovely, but the War Doctor one really stands out as it looks exactly as it should’ve done a few months ago. At least it was the best looking War Doctor figure so far, albeit without the scarf.

I have done the words for the magazine, so you'll hopefully enjoy them too.

So I ended up back in the action figure rabbit hole this year, much to my bank account’s disappointment, and via the magic of eBay now own the three Big Finish sets. Just wanted a War Doctor initially but liked his set so much I tracked down the other two. A very nice set of Daleks and neat variants of the Doctors.

I’m just going to put it out there that we now have the options of Palindrome Daleks and Trojan Dalek Daleks. (Plus maybe a Metropolis Cyberman).

It might be worth Big Finish engaging with Character Options and seeing what could be done. The B&M sets are primarily based on no new sculpting, but this has changed in the past year. I don’t think it would be as viable for BF, as they’ll be selling much less units and figures would likely need new sculpting, and the Doctor / Dalek sets were paint variants made off the back of B&M funding, but always worth a shot and seeing what can be done with little tooling. Stranger things have happened!
