Well that was fun roll on March! Regards mark687 Blimey that didn’t take you long! I am glad it was fun. I plan to listen over the next few weeks on my Friday night commute home. A slot that is usually occupied by Fourth Doctor Adventures or Jago & Litefoot. My very own Prime Time! Does this set give any reason for the Heritage title yet?

There's hints and I have a theory it'll be something to do with Silurian history

Don't know when I'll get to finish the set but the opening story by Dan Starkey was literally brilliant. Bravo, everyone, and thanks!

The Screaming Ceiling was quite delightful, that worked out quite well having a younger version of Strax's other self, lol, and I was very happy with the way it ended. Not really a complaint so much as just an observation: {Spoiler} Between billiards and darts, Strax makes a reference to babies that I was quite surprised to hear coming from a clone who usually seems rather confused about such things.

Having heard the whole set now, I think it's fantastic but Dan's story is still my favorite - I think it did the best at being smart and funny. It's probably my favorite of all the Paternoster Gang stories so far actually.

Dining with Death was fun. This first story was not quite what I had expected- I had expected more emphasis on the sleuthing side of things, but this peace conference type of affair was a fun little exercise. The Paternosters are shaping up as their own little range there, neither copying too much from Jago and Litefoot for example nor relying too much on their main series roots. I also like how the comedy and the drama balance each other nicely most of the time (however, sometimes it slides awkwardly towards slapstick and that is not my thing at all). It is a nice humourous range and very enjoyable to listen to.

I thought Dining with Death was brilliant. Fun, with plenty of farce, that also manages to slow things down where needed and give us the intricacies, whether they’re story beats or character moments. Given that Dan Starkey wrote this, it’s natural that Strax steals the story, but Vastra and Jenny are well served too, with the latter getting her own sub-plot that delves into her sleuthing nature.
Looking forward to the next two!

The Screaming Ceiling was a fun haunted house romp. I liked the fact that it is narrated by a historical figure who is a bit of an unreliable narrator and is brought down to earth quite a lot. Strax continues to be the most fun character of the gang, however, Jenny and Vastra also get their chance to shine.
The solution to the mystery is very... absurd and fits to the general tone of the set. I myself had thought that maybe {Spoiler} the haunted house was a decrepit TARDIS, maybe along the lines of the part humanoid TARDISES in the 8th Doctor books, with an equally decrepit time lord minder.... as it is, the solution is more standard, but works too

I agree with all of you who say the third story is the best of the set. It was nicely atmospheric exploring London at night and for me, the story itself was also the most original. I also liked the characters (like that pesky reporter).
So in conclusion- this was a fun set of stories. They won't become my favorites, but they are entertaining and perfect of you are looking for something lighthearted to listen to. Well done. I think the Paternosters are on their way to become a range that can stand on its own and is also worthwhile on its own. And the second set is definitely better than the first.

This is a really fun set. I was never a big fan of the Paternosters, and still have some difficulty with the premise, however I am enjoying these very much. I was a little apprehensive when I heard that one of the stories was going to have Carnacki play a substantial part. I hated the Carnacki release (nothing to do with Dan Starkey's performance) and was hoping for better here. Oh, it was so much better!

Yeah I also thought this was a fun set to listen to, it's probably not as good as the first set but it was still jolly good fun. Strax is brilliant! The Paternoster Gang were one of the highlights of the Steven Moffat era of Doctor Who on TV, so it's great to hear their continuing adventures on audio. Bring on the next one...

It took me a while to get into The Screaming Ceiling, about half an hour, but it then hit its stride and was a lot of fun. I liked the way the story was framed too and the Paternoster Gang shine in this.

Spring-Heeled Jack was really great. It didn’t go in the direction I expected and was all the better for it with a story that’s full of heart. Out of our trio, I felt Jenny was the best served here, showing how human and ethical she is, particularly amongst Strax and Vastra, who really stole the show on screen. I enjoyed Jenny’s disagreement with Vastra especially.
Another great set from The Paternoster Gang that’s lots of fun. There’s no classics, but it’s very much standing on its own feet and providing plenty of entertainment: I can’t ask for more.

I did enjoy this and I’m definitely onboard for box set 3, which I think is a good vote of confidence as we emerge from this very busy period of output from BF. The characters are engaging and the stories transporting. Basically this is a lot of fun. Roll on the next stories!

This particular Carnacki(As written by Guy Adams) would make a great series on its own(Brilliant!) bring it on BF

After hearing the third set it looks like your theory was sound!

Fun set of stories. Love the dialog and the banter among the Paternoster Gang.
