I loved this show, but looking at some of the titles I'm wondering if it is going to take the same approach as The Prisoner & be remakes of existing episodes?

And the redoubtable Mr. Simms (former artiste of the music halls, performer of Punch-and-Judy on Blackpool's Golden Mile, Adam's manservant extraordinary) is played by a certain Mr Guy Adams!
Excellent! (Big announcements last week as promised and now on a Saturday too - is there something special about today? )
As for the episodes, the vol 1 title is the title of the first TV episode, the second episode title is the same as on TV. These two first episodes set up the whole series - Adam's 'return' and his meetings with Georgina and Simms so it would make sense to remake them for audio to open the new sets. Beyond that, new stories?

Smoothed some of the old fashioned edges maybe?

Hello! The second story in the set is a reworking of the original episode but everything else is original.

Hello! The second story in the set is a reworking of the original episode but everything else is original. Thanks for the response. I appreciate also that Adam Adamant is probably not as well known, even in the world of cult tv, as something like The Prisoner. So a lot of people have probably not seen it!

I'd heard of this series in passing before the rumours started that Big Finish were making it, but I didn't really know what it was about. After the rumours started I decided to do a little research into it. The idea sounded fantastic, so I was really keen to see what Big Finish were going to do with it. With six stories all written by Guy Adams, I'm sure this going to be great! I'll definitely be pre-ordering this!

I was born in 1966 so I am loving the link back to then! I have heard of Adam Adamant, but I have never seen it, so this will be all new to me. It is great to see that these are all being written by the one writer and that writer being Guy Adams is even better. As he is in the cast he is even more invested in this series. Plus Blake Ritson is leading the cast. All in all I cannot wait to hear this.

I know nothing about the original show, but that makes me even more excited for this. Blake Ritson leading his own Big Finish series, with Guy Adams writing and as a supporting role, which he needs to do more as he has some great acting skills, such as is in Blind Terror. Bring it on!

Hello again.
All together now, 'Adam Adamaaant!!' I saw the first episode or an episode from this I think as part of Frank Muir's series Tv Heaven. Really eccentric but compelling and Gerald Harper was a great lead.

I've watched a couple of episodes on You Tube. I like the concept and I'm really interested in hearing how they deal with an Edwardian hero & 60s attitudes towards, well, everything. Oh and having Guy Adams writing the series sealed the deal. Bundle ordered and greatly anticipated.

Smoothed some of the old fashioned edges maybe? Regards mark687 A more direct reason for Georgina's involvement would be my guess, rather than her just 'tagging along' on cases more-or-less against Adam's old-fashioned wishes. Maybe she's now a police officer, counter-intelligence agent, something of that sort? And still part of the swinging Sixties when off-duty, naturally!
Looking forward to these very much!

Thanks for the kind words and the support everyone. This series is — as you may guess — a very big deal for me. I think people will enjoy what we’ve done. It’s both respectful of the original and yet with a few fresh twists that I hope listeners will like.

Count me in as it sounds fantastic.

So will these be individual stories or is there an on going story line?
I am wondering what will make this different from the Steed and Mrs Peel or the Steed and Tara King Avengers audios?
Like the Avengers I will be getting these, but I am intrigued how they will set themselves apart. I read that Adam Adamant was the BBC’s answer to The Avengers.
Will these NOT have the same level of comedy, the outlandish story lines with over the top villains!?

There’s an ongoing storyline in the sense that the characters very much develop over the course of the series. OTT villains? Perhaps, but the plan was always that it should flip, just when you think it’s madcap fun it shows its teeth.

This is a series I'd heard of but never saw. I found a couple of early episodes to watch. It's certainly stylish and I can see why it was popular. It remains to be seen how successfully BF can re-imagine the series in audio format. I was struck by how visual the episodes were, and how much it relied upon stunt fights, chases, and stylish location filming.

I love AAL, it's such a pity that so many of the episodes are missing.
