I'm really looking forward to hearing it. It was always among my top picks when we had "What shows should BF do?" threads. I don't want to listen just grabbing 20 mins here and there on the commute so I'll be saving it for my long weekend. Is there any potential for doing the missing stories? I've wanted a full version of Ticket To Terror since I read the PDF script on the DVD set (which anyone who doesn't own it...find it - Gerald Harper is amazing in the title role, just breathlessly wonderful, and it's what Verity and Sidney did next...) At the moment we’re just focussed on these six episodes. The brutal truth of it is that sales are what will dictate any next step. As much as we love the show it’s not the easy sell that other ranges are at BF and it’s going to take a lot of good will and people taking a chance on it for us to do more. It’s also it’s own thing right now, a cover version rather than a reconstruction, but we’d be open to moist things if the audience was there. It's a bold strategy Guy and I hope it pays off for you and BF! That typo reminds me of one I made praising early Counter Measures. That "O" in "Counter" really is important!

after only seeing the video reviews shown me earlier by Newt5996 I was going in on this blind-ish(the odd photos here and there) Thought perhaps there would be a “let’s make this contemporary” style introduced and am so glad Guy didn’t change the timeline.Great characters and plot, don’t know how much it’s deviated from the original story and don’t mind at all ,this first story is pretty gripping drama with a very moody atmosphere and some very strange characters (i loved Blind Terror’s characters and atmospherics-this retains this feel). {Spoiler} Missing out the whole block of ice freezing was a great idea as it was kind of cheesy from what I saw In the video reviews but Mummy is a lot more chilling and the son well that’s one psychologically messed up individual.I normally squirm every time a gay character is introduced (am gay myself) but this was integral to the plot not just a “hey we have a gay character-everybody clap.”
Leaving Adams arrival in the 60’s unexplained leaves plenty of scope and definitely leaves his psychology questionable is the Face a real person as I assume he was in the TV show or simply in Adam’s mind. This really is a BF breath of fresh air thanks guys for getting me to tip my toes in the water and that’s on the strength of the first story alone. I think Guy has made some interesting and intriguing choices story telling wise on where to go/and where not to go yet, with this.Great Direction from Nick Briggs too(and glad he actually didn’t write it. Absolutely fell in love with it am on board. Thanks guys and GUY .

Hey, we should make a thread where we put the funniest typos and award the greatest typo of the month.

Second episode and the goodness continues am glad the potential for “cheesiness” has been put on the back burner. I think it would be very very easy for this to become Sherlock Holmes in the 60s so am Interested to see how the Adam character will be different from our popular sleuth.I do not know how fleshed out he was in the Tv show but there’s scope here for him not only to be a much warmer character but also his different Edwardian ideals, how much his world has changed and his possible commentaries on it. But if they want to hand writing duties of Holmes over to Guy make it quick competition for Nick there. not only well acted but straight acted easy for the Mickey to be taken but so far avoided.Loving it. Episode 3 here I come

Hey, we should make a thread where we put the funniest typos and award the greatest typo of the month. Then we risk deliberate mistakes 🤪😉

Well what can I say totally loved all three stories and this last one well what a story wont spoil it for anyone but that was some dark issues and it’s a series that can do the flip between fun and dark. This is great introduction for me and love the direction this can go and cannot wait till the next release .....am away to bed and guess what am playing it all again in the dark...Great release

If people keep up the praise I’m tempted to let my typo stand, the kind words mean a huge amount. As people will know from the extras this set is a proper exorcism for me. I have a Face all of my own — don’t most of us — and he’s grown particularly vicious over a difficult few years. People’s positive responses so far have him stymied.

Of course it's released on a day that I can't listen to it! Well, there's always tomorrow. I'm genuinely excited because of what I've seen here.

Well after the second listen this is a very very strong release and for some reason has grabbed me more than any of The Avengers releases. Its exciting,it’s fun and elements of darkness but as I have said one of the most strongly acted releases I have heard.I gauge a release on how quickly I want to relisten if I am honest a case of geez need to do that again there were so many great acting moments one I might add came from Guy himself against the police in the final tale who hasn’t done something and trembled at how they found the guts to do it {Spoiler} Is Adam who he says he is is it some protective mechanism i so love that it isn’t answered and does it need to be?
Its a series that can go to stand alone stories three good strong lead actors and even the extra cast all were all exceptional in their roles. as a man who has reached his 50s I have had a few problems I wonder which man or woman hasn’t living in the world we live in and I’ve had my share of protective mechanisms to get me through in the past they serve their purpose at the time and glad to say got abandoned when I found the stability I required, you abandon the shell and inhabit your own skin. So as I got to listen to this for the 3rd time all I can say is TOTALLY LOVED this not a standard BF release this has depth fun, meaning and an ability to get you really thinking about issues involved. Thanks all you who persuaded me 😎🤪

Based on these reviews I am going to bump this one up my listening schedule. Provided the CDs arrive in time I will be commuting in the company of Adam Adamant et al next week!

(And I was SO nervous about the acting so I’m not going to lie, your comment about that made me so happy!)
