Hear! Hear!
I think my initial post on this thread was a bit churlish - of course I'll be pre-ordering, how could I not? Of all CM, the ones I love most are the 4 classic sets with their Cold War spies and paranormal plots - but if CM have to return to their TV roots and fight aliens to be commercially viable, then so be it.
I loved the dorney CM story in 'Legacy' so much, of all the stories in the set it was the one where being fully at home with the spin-off range and characters paid most dividends. And like 'The Hollow King' it reminded me just how excellent CM are when they get the stories they deserve. Here's to many more. Give The Splintered Man another go!

In fact I have just copied TNCM2 across to my phone and I'll give the whole volume another go this week.

Those covers look fantastic! Also, the promise at the end of The Dalek Gambit synopsis... Then again, Big Finish have pulled a fast one on that promise before, so I'll believe it when I hear it. Also, it's a massive spoiler to put in the synopsis, so I kind of take offence at its inclusion. Regardless, I love Counter-Measures and I'm sure these will be great additions to the range

Not convinced by this. Not really interested in seeing old monsters back. Although I did like the character Lady Suzanne Clare.

The last UNIT set promised "not everyone will make it out alive"... and then that never came up in the set at all.

These are meant to be the last Counter-Measures releases, according to the new Vortex.

These are meant to be the last Counter-Measures releases, according to the new Vortex. Again?
By my count isn't this the third or fourth 'last' CM we've heard about: TNCM2, 'The Hollow King', Legacy of Time special, and now these.
I very much hope this 'last' announcement will be wrong again. (Unless there's a reason we don't know about why there can't be more in future?) At least we've had some great stories along the way - I think Classic-era CM 1-4 is one of BF's best spin-off ranges, I love it. Also the most recent two single-episode stories, two of the three best CM episodes since the classic run imo.

Well the wording of the piece says these will be more satisfying Finale than Hollow King was Regards mark687

(As I've mentioned I almost always avoid reading the articles until after. ) If it has to be good-bye to CM, a grand finale is what they deserve.

I don't think those are all quite comparable. TNCM2 would have been the end had it not been for the unusual circumstances of The Hollow King getting recorded but then bumped out of the set at the last moment, and Legacy was a separate special.

"A harrowing, tragic decision for one of the team"
Not sure exactly what they mean by this line in the Vortex piece, but plenty of time to speculate like mad about it..
