I do find some strange stuff out there...and I enjoyed this 30 min programme.
Now, I'm not a train buff or indeed a train spotter, but I do like dipping in to obscure subjects...and this is one.
The trains of the title aren't phantom steam engines, but rather obscure rail journeys in Britain known as 'Parliamentary Trains'. In short, a once-a-week service that has to run because it will cost more money and hassle for it to be cancelled and taken out of the network. And yes, people sometimes use them just for the hell of it.
A good listen on BBC radio 4 extra to remind us how odd Britain can be at times.
